Fu's Connection With Trunks

In general, was Fu supposed to be some kind of rival or archenemy to Time Patrol Trunks / Trunks: Xeno? Their designs as babies are similar, their parents seem to reflect each other (Mira and Vegeta; Towa and Bulma), and they are on opposing teams (time-cops vs. time-criminals). If I remember correctly, Future Trunks and Fu were also each introduced as the "Mysterious Boy" or "Mysterious Youth."

While you can draw parallels and see similarities if you want, there is no intentional connection between those characters as far as we know.
