Modern Dragon Ball Stories Implement Ideas That Toriyama Did Not Get to Implement in the Original Series

A lot of the stories we have seen in modern Dragon Ball (Super and Daima) contain many plot points that Toriyama had on his mind for years during the time period between the end of the original series and the advent of Battle of Gods. This can be seen within multiple works of his: Sachie-chan GOOD!!, Jiya, Sand Land, Neko Majin Z, Yo! Son Goku and His Friends Return!!, Dragon Ball Online, and Kintoki.

The existence and relevance of the Galactic Patrol.

Sand Land:
Post-apocalyptic Earth.
Demons being a relevant part of the world.

Neko Majin Z:
Freeza and his army being relevant again.
New Saiyans (Onio and his wife).

Freeza Army remnants being a threat (Abo & Cado).
New Saiyans, good Saiyans (Tarble).

Dragon Ball Online:
Pilaf Gang returning in some form.

Red Ribbon Army rebranding and returning as a threat (Red Pants Army).
New androids (Androids 8000 and 19000) and new Cell (Cell-X).

U6 Tournament:
New Saiyans, who are also good (Cabba).
Potential disciple for Vegeta (Cabba is clearly a successor to Tarble conceptually).
Post-apocalyptic Earth (U6 Earth is ravaged after a war).

Goku Black:
Future Trunks returning.
Time travel being illegal.
Also implemented fan ideas into the continuity such as: Evil Goku, DBAF (Xicor), and Vegetto returning.

ToP:
More new Saiyans, female Super Saiyans (Kale and Caulifla) (Note: Toei were the ones who made Kale, but Caulifla was made by Toriyama in response, we did already have female Super Saiyans in Dragon Ball Online however).
Freeza returning and being relevant again.

Broly:
New Saiyans (Broly and Paragus).
New good Saiyan (Broly).
Freeza and his army being relevant and a looming threat.
Bardock being relevant (flashbacks).

Moro:
Yardrats returning (Toriyama's Dragon Ball Online design for the Yardrats makes a return here coexisting with the Toei design).

Granolah:
Sniper from a race of warriors with really good eyes (Granolah).
Freeza and his army being relevant and a looming threat.
Bardock being relevant (flashbacks).

Super Hero:
Pilaf Gang working with Capsule Corp. (Dragon Ball Online had a descendant of Mai working for CC).
Goten and Trunks donning Saiyaman outfits (this also happens in the Online prologue I think).
Red Ribbon Army rebranding and returning as a threat (Red Pharmaceuticals).
New androids (Gamma 1 and Gamma 2) and new Cell (Cell Max).

Daima:
Demon Realm being relevant.
Demons being a relevant part of the world.
The existence of the Makaioshin.

Essentially, it can be seen that these modern Dragon Ball stories served as a medium for Toriyama to implement idea that he likely had on his mind for years. A lot of this stuff really did not come from a vacuum, these are concepts that have been around in different forms for a while now. This is just Toriyama implementing them into one continuity. Even if you only focus on the main stories that Toriyama was most hands-on with (Battle of Gods, Resurrection F, Broly, Super Hero, and Daima), you can see the majority of these idea be represented in all of the projects.

• Bardock being a loving father and starting to lean into the "good territory" also come from Dragon Ball Online.

• It's not stated that Kaioshin of Time holds a higher position than Kaioshin of East. So as far as we know, they belong to the same "tier" (and I think the same goes for the Gods of Destruction).

• There's a filler in Dragon Ball Super about Tenshinhan having a dojo, as well as Mister Satan being an actor. Straight from Dragon Ball Online.

• Vegetto's appearance in Future Trunks saga is Toyotaro's idea, not Toriyama's.

• It is not yet confirmed Makaios and Makaioshins will appear in Dragon Ball Daima.
