What if Dragon Ball is on Disney+?
I know all of the Dragon Ball anime series are already on Hulu, but what if they're on Disney+? Bleach TYBW is on Disney+ (but only outside the U.S.) and I'm sure Dragon Ball on Disney+ would be successful since today's kids (mostly Gen Alpha) usually watch their favorite series on streaming platforms and YouTube, making traditional broadcast TV for children's entertainment a thing of the past.

I honestly think it would be more successful on Netflix than Disney+, Disney barely promotes the anime it acquires and when it does it only materializes in the US market and it leaves out the international market, which is even more important for the success of the franchise.

Well the Db Super Broly movie is on Disney+ in Asia so there's that to account for.
The world is your's.

Re: What if Dragon Ball is on Disney+?
I'd take seeing Dragon Ball on any streaming service over Crunchyroll as I hate their monopoly. I know people will say Disney is a monopoly too, but they haven't shown any interest in dominating the anime industry, and the rare cases of them licensing anything (like the previously mentioned Bleach on their service, or Naruto Shippuden when it was on Disney XD) was just to diversify the content they offer, which isn't a bad thing.
I would also agree Netflix would be the best platform to put Dragon Ball on as they have a history with picking up alternate dubs of shows like Yo-Kai Watch and Paw Patrol. If they were to stream the Ocean dubs for European and Canadian audiences and the Animax dub for Southeast Asia that would be something to look forward to.

Do you have any info about international non-English broadcasts about the Dragon Ball anime or manga translations/editions? Please message me. Researching for a future book with Dragon Ball scholar Derek Padula

Not everything is a hit on Netflix. Even Saban's dub of a Precure show was a flop in the states.M16U3L2015 wrote: Thu Sep 19, 2024 7:34 pm I honestly think it would be more successful on Netflix than Disney+, Disney barely promotes the anime it acquires and when it does it only materializes in the US market and it leaves out the international market, which is even more important for the success of the franchise.

It's also in the States on Disney+ for people who also have Hulu subscriptions, for whatever that's worth. The rest of the Hulu DB content doesn't appear to be visible though.tinlunlau wrote: Fri Sep 20, 2024 3:11 am Well the Db Super Broly movie is on Disney+ in Asia so there's that to account for.
