I'm trying to let my own thoughts apart in order to trying to understand this seemingly so important scene before I reread the Granolah arc.
So I will just ask what you think. What did Goku and Vegeta learn with this flashback? It made Goku want to actually fight Gas and Vegeta stop feeling guilty about the Saiyans' past wrongdoings. Why?
What did Goku and Vegeta learn with Bardock's recording?

To let everything go and just immerse yourself in the fight. Vegeta was trying to do that the whole arc but failed to let go of his guilt. Seeing another Saiyan do so and access greater strength because of it probably appeased Vegeta's conscience.
Goku's path is the opposite: his full power can only be reached if he detaches himself from the fight but he had a hard trouble doing so. That's why even after they hear the recording, Vegeta says his UE is evolving whereas Goku's UI is still having issues. Goku's solution is to take a backstep and use a form more optimized for fighting with his emotions, UI Sign. He didn't necessarily solve the conflict set up in the beginning of the arc - finding his own version of UI - more-so he just postponed the solution, as the silver-haired form is confirmed to still be the strongest.

That certainly works for Vegeta (trough he was still talking about that guilt actually being pride which...doesn't make much sense to me), thanks. But I don't know why Goku would accept being told that he has to fight an enemy without reason. It's a very Saiyan thing sure, but Goku is unlike most of them.Yuji wrote: Sun Sep 22, 2024 6:14 pm To let everything go and just immerse yourself in the fight.
