I don't think they hate Dragonball, it's just that outside of anime, Dragonball ain't the top dogs. They at least provide in universe stats before the fight, and elaborate further after the fight.

This would make for an interesting film, honestly. DBS Bardock—bored of his as a traditional Saiyan—meeting Omni-Man, who—at least in the first season—is on that 'sunk-cost fallacy' grind makes for really nice character dynamics.

It's more interesting for character development if Omni-Man loses against Bardock, though.
