Is Beast a demonic form?

If Blue is tapping into generic divine Ki, and UI is tapping into angel powers, UE is tapping into Destruction powers, then maybe Beast is tapping somehow into demonic Ki? I have no explanation for it, but if the Kaioshin are perhaps from the Demon realm, then the ritual maybe imbued Gohan with some demonic Ki?

It’s an interesting hypothesis but speculative. If we consider Dragon Ball Daima’s focus on the Demon Realm, it raises the possibility of a connection between divine and demonic powers. However, the ritual Gohan underwent with Elder Kai didn’t directly imply a demonic origin. Piccolo notes his ki feels different, but doesn’t really explain what it is. Besides, historically, Kaioshins and the Demon Realm have been treated as opposing forces.

The creative process behind Beast does offer clues, though, particularly from Toriyama’s commentary. He mentioned that the form represents Gohan reaching his “wildest” state, symbolizing a more primal, untapped power—one that comes from deep within rather than relying on divine or external forces. So, while Beast is still mostly unexplored, it’s more likely a manifestation of Gohan’s latent potential, akin to the Elder Kai’s unlocking, than specifically demonic ki.

In another hand, the concept of a “beastly” transformation might allude to Gohan unlocking something more chaotic, which could potentially connect to the darker themes in Dragon Ball Daima. The design choices—sharp hair, glowing red eyes and crimson aura—emphasize this primal nature, contrasting with the more divine or controlled transformations seen with Goku and Vegeta. Despite that, I think it’s less about demonic power and more about unleashing Gohan’s inherent potential in a form that breaks his limits in a savage, almost uncontrollable way.
