Majin Vegeta - An inevitable plot-point?

Post by Rory » Sat Oct 19, 2024 6:42 pm

I think with Vegeta being a part of the gang in the Demon Realm, this'd be a great chance for them to further complete a character arc for him by bringing the Majin Vegeta story beat back into focus.
It could be as simple as them offering him a chance to 'join' (be a slave of) the demon clan again - with the promise of more power. Though I think it'd be quite predictable how it'd play out, it could still be satisfying to see him turn it down.
Or maybe it could be more of a Baby thing - once those eggs are in, there's a control button that could be flipped. Would be a great twist to see Vegeta actively fighting to be a good guy in an environment trying to bring out the worst of him. We'd get to see him actually put the whole 'redeemed villain' part of his character to the test (especially with Bulma being a part of the group).

Very eager to hear fun concepts for uses of Majin Vegeta in this story, so share them if you got them!

Vegeta having to face a physical manifestation of his inner evil in the form of literally fighting Majin Vegeta would be an interesting track to take him down. Vegeta's already had to reckon with those things in the Moro arc of the comic, but there's really no reason why another writer couldn't take a crack at it with Daima.

Its important to remember that Vegeta wasn’t actually influenced by Babidi’s magic in any way shape or form, everything he did in the Buu arc was what Vegeta actually wanted to do. It would be interesting to how far he’s come since the Buu saga ended, but id like it to be more like the moro arc where vegeta is clearly not interested in being evil and seeks to right his wrongs. Not necessarily him being tempted by the promise of more power but rather the story making it clear how much he’s changed.

If we get yet another Vegeta betrayal then I might have to check out lol

This is true, but I think it'd be really cool to have something along the lines of "nuh uh, you don't get to make a deal like that and back out of it".
More than a Vegeta betrayal, I think it'd be interesting for him to have to wrestle with the fact that he was a total prick. Like, yeah you've reformed, but that doesn't make those bad things go away.

We better not get yet another "Vegeta becomes evil... AGAIN!!!!"
Whatever semblance of badly executed character development he had in Z will become null and void then.

Sure give us chibi Majin Vegeta. It would look hilarious.

I could see Gomah or one of his minions taunting Vegeta with his past. Maybe a: "what gives you the right to call me evil when you killed for sport" sort of thing. I also love the fact that these guys just watched a demon YouTube video to learn all of this.

If they want to give characters new forms in Daima, I wouldn't mind Vegeta making Majin his own.

Going about it with regression and any sort of conflict would just be bad writing. Vegeta turning into a "good guy" was concluded in the Boo arc
I remember in Super when Vegeta was beating Cabba and they had the audience - including Bulma - wondering if he returned to his old ways; egregious.

Since the Namekians might have been oppressed in the Demon Realm. If this scenario turns true, I would like him to be motivated to correct his sins. Akin to his arc in the Moro arc in the Super manga.

I'm not expecting Majin Vegeta to be a plot point. A reference maybe.

I could see something like this happening. You have the premise of this story which seemingly pulls from DBH, GT, and the Boo arc all of which involve that kind of charmed Vegeta story. There is also the fact that villains are set up as not being that strong but crafty instead. Maybe similar to what Janenba does in Shin Budokai, Dr. Arinsu or Gomah create a shadow Vegeta...a new copy Vegeta.

We had Vegeta become under control of another person like three times. We had Majin Vegeta, Baby Vegeta, and Copy Vegeta.

Please no more evil Vegeta again. The franchise has tried way too many times to force a fight between him and Goku with artificial higher stakes, and the only way post-Buu to not make it ridiculous is once again repeating mind control.

I would like the mentioned refusal through, or fighting a manifestation himself. They better do something interesting with Vegeta with how unnecesary he feels as an addition to the adventuring team (Piccolo too, but he is at least a Namekian and could potentially have fun interactions. If the two of them actually interacted or worked together for once tho, that could be fun)
English is not my first language. Please excuse my gramatical mistakes.

Majin possed Vegeta is a favorite of many, myself included.

What you are mentioning sounds interesting. I am not sure if it adjusts to the current Daima saga, but I am hopeful for many seasons of Daima to come and in one of them they could bring the Majin Vegeta to the surface or try to reposses him, maybe?
