Incredible commitment to the role and the franchise to still be doing such a phenomenal job with Goku (and his children) at this age. Happy birthday!

88-sai no otanjobi omedeto, Nozawa-san! You're still doing a phenomenal job at voicing Son Goku and the Son family!

That is absolutely insane, this woman is a legend.

Here's to at least 88 more years!

Wow, it's incredible. She shouldn't have been working these last 20 years and here she is still voice acting at an age not many people even reach. Absolutely mind blowing.

Japanse women can become very old. If she stays healthy, she may well keep the role for another 5 - 10 years.

Astounding that the GOAT Nozawa is still knocking it out of the park. Like Goku she symbolises eternal youth, I applaud her dedication. It can't be easy at that age, but her performances are still incredible after all this time.

Happy Birthday Ms Nozawa. Take care of yourself.

It’s remarkable that she’s still doing this at her age.

That's not quite right. In Japan the life expectancy for women is 87.6, so around 48-49 percent of Japanese women reach Nozawa's age. In America the life expectancy from birth is late 70s, but that figure is factoring in the poor. The life expectancy for the middle class is mid-80s, and for the rich is late 80s (87.3 for men and an even 89 for women). It's true that she's in much better health than the average 88 year old though. To whatever degree her acting has changed (I only noticed a few moments in Daima that seem off), that degree is much milder than what most 88 year olds would know.

She has always seemed happy to play her role.

Happy Birthday and many more to come for her!
