Did Vegeta plan to be possessed by Babidi?

I mentioned that Vegeta planned to be possessed by Babidi because he wanted the power boost. Someone told me I was wrong and Vegeta couldn’t have known about this.

I’m pretty sure he explained to Goku that he saw the power boost that Spoppvich received, so he wanted the same thing for himself. He basically manipulated Dabura and Babidi.

Did Vegeta plan for this or was he possessed by surprise?

Yes, after Goku fought Yakon.

In chapter 459 (Viz chapter 265), Goku says:

Unbelievable...I thought I trained so hard in the afterlife...but we're dead even...you must've trained harder than I did...

Vegeta replies:

...No...I thought I did, but you're more gifted than me...I could never make up the difference between us...I finally saw this when you fought Bobbidi's monster... ...it was a huge blow...that's why I made up my mind...

Goku replies:

So that's it...!! You got Bobbidi to...

Vegeta replies:

Yeah...at the tournament, the guys who'd known Bobbidi's minions mentioned they'd gotten stronger...I thought...maybe it would close the difference between us...if I let him control me... ...and I was right...

Goku only having a 24 hour visit on Earth is why Vegeta became possessed in the first place. If Goku didn't die or show up on Earth for a 24 hour visit, Buu would have been awaken.

Vegeta started acting like a jerk after he saw Goku beat Yakkon. This was him intentionally baiting Babidi to cast the Majin spell on him.
