Found this tweet while browsing through AnimeAjay's tweets.
In the first English dub trailer that was released a month before Daima, "Pansy" is pronounced correctly (because "pansy" is an actual English word). But in the new English dub trailer that was released 4 days ago, "Pansy" is now pronounced as "Ponzi" despite the character's name being an obvious reference to the name of a flower ("pansy").
I never liked the pronunciation change. It's similar to FUNimation pronouncing "Saiyan" as "Say-en" instead of "S-eye-an", even though "Saiya" in "Saiyan" is an anagram of the Japanese word "yasai" ("野菜"). It's also similar to them pronouncing "Kafla" as "Kefla" instead of "Kay-fla", even though the name is a fusion of "Kale" and "Caulifla".
Anyone annoyed by the Crunchyroll English dub's pronunciation of "Pansy"?

What are you going to do if they decided that the classical "pansy" was too risky to use due to its history as a demeaning insult?
