Is there anything you've wanted from new DB that you have or haven't gotten? (DAIMA SPOILERS)

Ever since I saw the last episode of GT as a kid, I've always wanted Dragon Ball to come back. And eventually, Battle of Gods came out and from there, we got Super and Daima. And from Super, I got three things I always wanted: female Super Saiyans, Future Trunks and Android 17 returning again in big ways. All of them happened and although I didn't love how Trunks' story ended, I still appreciate his return. I also didn't care for Caulifla and Kale as characters, but they opened the door for Pan and Bra to possibly become Super Saiyans one day. And then Daima did another thing I always wanted, it gave us SSJ3 Vegeta officially and not just in the games.

There's only one more thing I really want from Dragon Ball that I hope gets fulfilled at some point: Uub becoming a relevant character in the main story. He's literally Goku's handpicked student and the reincarnation of the final villain in the manga. And also, he's black (maybe Indian?) so he provides Dragon Ball with a new diverse character (I can already hear the annoyed sighs of the anti-woke crowd). The Super manga and anime have hinted and teased at Uub heavily so I hope he makes a comeback since GT failed him.

So, to that point, is there anything you wanted from Dragon Ball's revival period (2013 to now) that happened or still hasn't happened yet?

Well, I would like to see more of the 12 universes. Especially, the 4 we didn't see appear in the tournament of power. Unfortunately, we won't see them how they were envisioned by Toriyama, unless Toyotaru discussed them in emails with him. I'm happen we are ending his reign with a view into the Demon world, which I have anticipated for the past 10 years.

Oh yeah, you just reminded me. Another thing I wanted to see are the Makaioshin, which Daima seems like it's fulfilling. As for the other universes, I do want to see Universe 6 explored again with Vegeta following through on visiting after meeting Cabba at the U6 tournament. But I don't think the other 4 will be explored anytime soon. I could be wrong, but we haven't even seen Yamoshi yet. Dragon Ball tends to introduce a lot of cool concepts and then just sit on them for YEARS.

But yeah, I really would love to see a Universe 6 arc, which was teased years ago.

I think that too many fans not realize that Baby would have killed Goku if not for Uub's help at the last minute. As much as I like his contribution to Moro's defeat, it's the same scenario. He's playing the support role to Goku's attack finishing the villain.

As for me, I'd like to see the stuff that's been teased but never properly shown, like Zalama, Yamoshi, Namekian Book of Legends. Oh and what else? Metamorians! Fusion Dance is the most popular thing ever, but we still don't know who it originates from beyond their name

I'm always hearing about this Namekian Book of Legends and I'm so confused. Was this introduced in that Resurrection F Extended Edition? If so, it might be best not to look too much into it, but correct me if I'm wrong. But yeah, fusions are really one of the best things about Dragon Ball besides transformations so I definitely want to see the Metamorians explored more. And we did get to see the Yardrats make a comeback in the Super manga so who knows?

After seeing Super Broly I would have loved to see Toriyama's own take on Cooler or even Baby. Hopefully he left some notes for the staff at TOEI and Capsule Corp Tokyo to build something from.

I'm always hearing about this Namekian Book of Legends and I'm so confused. Was this introduced in that Resurrection F Extended Edition?

It was mentioned in Battle of Gods, but it feels like it was just a throwaway line to cover up that plot hole about no one ever knowing about Super Saiyan God in Dragon Ball Z despite it apparently being such a big deal in Saiyan lore.

Yes, more new villains. The only Super original villains were Zamasu, Moro, and the Heeters.

It's funny, because Zamasu and Moro are arguably better-written than all the DBZ villains, yet the three Ts insist on recycling the old DBZ villains. How boring! I wish they didn't keep pandering to the nostalgic Millennials who want to relive their childhood.

I don't know what I was thinking back in 2019/2020. I used to dislike Moro, but now I look back, and I realize how spoiled I was. An actual new storyline, a new conflict, a new villain, instead of just recycling the old DBZ arcs and movies. And now it looks like the next arc of the manga, whenever it returns, will be centred around Freeza... AGAIN.

Is the Namek saga/1990s nostalgia that strong that people can be hyped about a Freeza-centric storyline for the 30th time? I genuinely don't get it.

On the flip-side I've gotten entertaining and well-written villains like Zamasu and Moro (who I can't wait to see in animation), as well as an overall storyline that is better-written and better-planned than DBZ.

I might change my mind if the final villain of Daima won't be a modern version of Janemba. I'm not giving the benefit of the doubt to the three Ts right now though.

It wasn't a big thought for me before but now that Daima is circling back around again to the beginning of the post-Boo timeskip, I'd like to see original stories in-between the other timeskips. Goku's adventures before the 22nd or 23rd TB, the Saiyan arc timeskip, the 7 year timeskip, etc. I know the movies fill this gap a bit but they're short and mostly rehashes of the manga arcs. I'd like to revisit these time periods where the status quo was different, if they are to remain afraid of going beyond EoZ at least.

DBS: It used to be Planet Sadala, but now it's a Black Freeza arc. The dbs manga left off in such a cliffhanger with that and I feel it has potential to be something really entertaining.

Daima: That tease of adult Goku with nyoi-bo in the op; I just really want them to get a few episodes with their adult bodies back before Daima reaches the finish line. I'm not a fan of the mini-forms. Their adult designs looked so good in episode 1, imo.
I'd also like to see Goma and co use some actual, Dragon Quest style magic spells of their own against Goku and friends once they reach the castle.

I want to see the characters in more everyday situations and with investment in those scenarios as a way to boost the tension when it comes time for their battles. I do feel like Dragon Ball tries to hard to make Gokuu and Vegeta above those connections and desires and all it does is serve to flatten them.

I also want to see characters die and remain dead. I don't want the entire cast of a dozen-plus characters just being available any time a crisis happens.

I agree about doing flashbacks to earlier eras, too. Let's see how characters grow between earlier arcs!

- I wanted to see Lunch back.
- I wanted to see the power scaling be sensible again, where actual martial arts skill determined your win-chance rather than a transformation, a fictional RPG number or how big your ball of light is.
- I wanted more black humor from the 1st arc of DB.
- I wanted to see Yamcha getting something good to happen to him (And no, I don't count the terrible baseball episode that reinforces his living joke status)
- I wanted Videl and #18 to be more active in the fighting rather than being relegated to housemoms.
- I wanted an actual gay character. Beerus and Whis came extremely close, but after Beerus got a girlfriend, and the Fat Demon Whose Name I Never Remember from Daima admitted he likes boobs, I'm pretty sure there is nothing for Whis either.

Vegeta's entire arc in Moro and Granolah was about atoning for his past sins. Quarrel with the execution but the ideas are there.

Gohan and Piccolo got their own movie and #17 and Trunks were essentially the protagonists of their arcs. Roshi in the manga was the key to Ultra Instinct. Oob saved the universe versus Moro. If anything, Super has done more for other characters than the original series did.

Super did circle back to martial arts skills and mastery over raw strength on multiple occasions. Sure it still resorts to spectacle but it's actively emphasizing martial arts too.

I would've liked to have seen Goku explore each of the 12 different universes before the Tournament of Power, and I guess it's still possible but it seems unlikely at this point that we'll get to see each universe in detail. Or, at the very least how each universe functions differently from our hero's.
I think what I wanted most from Super was proper planning and a production that allowed for the best product out the gate. Daima has alleviated some of that, but we'll never forget the legacy of Super's episode 5.

Neither does Australia. The Madman release of Super Broly is a clone of the Manga UK release.

Recanonized SSJ4, brought back into the main continuity in a new context and probs under a different name/origins. Broly-style treatement basically. Love the form so I just hope it gets readapted into the prime spotlight. Goten should be the one to get it OF COURSE

And yeah, Black Freeza to my own surprise. It simply became too much of a thing with too much buildup, esp with years of speculations and increasing expectations, to not get some kind of a proper resolution at the end. At this stage, I don't think the storyline can just handwave this issue away and do something else. Don't want him as a recurring villain either, that schtick already got tired too with him popping for a page or too and disappearing again. He needs a closure.

Do what I do and cling to delulu hope that Goten will be gay. Fat chance obviously, but I do have to say that it seems a lil bit sus to me how Toyotaro writes him. He made Trunks the ultimate ladies man in the Super Hero prologue chapters yet Goten is shown to have zero interest in any girl, zero jealousy over not having dates with girls like Trunks does, zero jealousy whatsoever over girls when they all pin for Trunks and even zero jealousy when girls basically use him to get close to Trunks. He's literally acting like that stereotypical gay best friend happy to help his gal pals get their men lol.

Yeah, Super and the newer movies are the only ones I find tolerable.

I guess the DVDs of some of the older movies are OKAY...but when you have a 120" projector screen, even the BEST DVD still looks pretty bad. And I'm not even a HUGE audio/videophile...but my eyes know what they see.

Things I would like to happen (I already mentioned some of them elsewhere, so I apologise for the repetition):

• 4-way fusion of Gogeta and Gotenks;
• Goku actually meeting his father in some way, at least once;
• Lapis's and Lazuli's names being mentioned on screen, maybe even Mark's;
• Roshi learning how to fly;
• Yamcha actually finding love (so close, Super Dragon Ball Heroes).

Things that I'm happy they happened:
