Deaths in Daima
Deaths in Daima
Now that we have entered the climax.. It's time to take bets.
Who do you think will get killed in the upcoming all out war between the Rebels Group, Arinsu's Fraction and Gomah's Forces? I know that the easygoing tone of this series may make it feel like nobody at all, but for me it feels like we're being misled and the situation is gonna get dark. The late night timeslot isn't there without a reason.
Some Possible Candidates:
Glorio after a heel face turn. He'll state that he enjoyed spending time with the kids group
Dr. Arinsu might be killed after her last experiment goes wrong and turns against her.
The Gendarmerie Force A comedic bunch, but they may be forced to fight against the Majin Brothers in a sad turn of events.
Majin Kuu & Majin Duu ... I don't want that to happen, but they're defacto weapons in the hands of a mad scientist. They are very likable characters, which unfortunately adds further to their death flags.
Degesu as he may defacto turn out to be the last boss of this series.
Neva If he settles on a side, the other one may get him killed. Perhaps by Gomah who deems him a traitor.
Panzy I really don't want that one to happen either, but I can see her taking a desperate blow to save Goku from the final boss, making him tap into a new level of power as he absorbs the Evil Third Eye himself proceeding to deliver a beatdown to the thing that caused it.
Of course the Demon Realm's Dragon Balls may revive the casualties for a happy ending, or maybe... this will go for a different, darker approach? Who knows.

Re: Deaths in Daima
I don't think that anybody is going to die in Dragon Ball Daima, not even the new characters. I feel like we would have gotten an indication of what could happen in the series by now if we were going to get deaths.

Re: Deaths in Daima
I will bet that either Kuu or Duu will bite the dust and greatly infuriate the other. Their dynamic is way too developed for Toriyama not to do anything with it. In fact, he has already done this before in the Super Hero movie, so no surprise if it gets redone here.
I assume Kuu, the "weak" brother, will be killed off somehow and Duu will flip the fuck out.
Either that, or Duu will die and Kuu will flip out and reveal an inner strength/transformation that will shock everyone.
Alternatively, I see Kuu and Duu using the "Fusion Bug" to fuse, but the heroes forgiving them and letting them use the wish to defuse.
In all of the above cases, I see Arinsu with the most potential to bite the dust definitively.
Speaking of the Non-Arinsu gang, Neva can probably either reveal himself to be the main villain of the whole series, or sacrifice himself to grant the gang a noble wish.
Gomah and Degesu so far have proven themselves to be the "Pilafs" to Arinsu's "Piccolo Daimao."
In other words, I just see them being slightly humiliated, then forgotten like they never mattered.
As for the main cast, I doubt anyone will die. Glorio will probably help the main guys succeed, be forgiven, and live happily ever after with Pansy or something. None of them have been developed enough in this show for me to believe something will happen to them.

Re: Deaths in Daima
I think the most likely candidate would be Neva. He could make some reveal that he's reached the end of his lifespan and helped Gomah set off the events of Daima to find warriors powerful enough to bring new balance to the demon realm. Then he can peacefully disappear like the Grand Elder satisfied at what he sees.
We need a Steve Simmons' re-translation of the manga.
Re: Deaths in Daima
My crack theory that won't happen: Neva will become the main villain because he will be revealed to have orchestrated the entire series of events thus far so that someone will take revenge for the Nameks and he will use the collected life-span of other demons to become young and strong again. This will lead to his death and Piccolo agreeing to take up his cause in a different way.
Re: Deaths in Daima
I definitely think Koo is biting it and he's likely not being revived.
Re: Deaths in Daima
I think Daima's too low stakes to kill anybody off-- it would feel like tonal dissonance, imo.
If it wanted to get high stakes all of a sudden though, I'd like a Gomah tries to use the evil eye to age Goku and friends to death, but Piccolo's long lifespan means he isn't affected fast enough and he manages to stop Gomah (with help from Shin, Panzy, and Glorio) and get the win.
I want Piccolo to get to actively do something plot-related.

Death in a Dragon Ball series aimed primarily at 5 year olds? Wouldn't count on it.

Dr. Arinsu will probably end up being the final villain. So she will likely be killed off.

Re: Deaths in Daima
I don't think this series with have any deaths. At most, melodrama over apparent deaths, only for the character to be revealed to be alive.
This series is too kiddy. Even in Super, it seems unlikely that a protagonist will ever die again.

"Dragon Ball once became a thing of the past to me, but after that, I got angry about the live action movie, re-wrote an entire movie script, and now I'm complaining about the quality of the new TV anime. It seems Dragon Ball has grown on me so much that I can't leave it alone." - Akira Toriyama on Dragon Ball Super
