Kanzenshuu translators' academic credentials

Post by Yuji » Thu Mar 13, 2025 7:43 am

I'll be citing the websites' interviews for my upcoming PhD soon. I'm sure it's neither the first nor the last academic paper citing Kanzenshuu interviews but I was just concerned about the translation credentials -- not because of their accuracy, but I just fear academic bureaucracy. Are Jake & Julian (and others) certified translators? If so, which translation work was done before said certification? I'm aware both passed the JLPT, but the About Us doesn't specify any other certification.

I don't know. And I see they have not replied to you. Maybe DM them.
Btw a certification in translation is expensive and, unless that people make a living on that, I would not expect for them to have one.

Good luck
