We have been getting a Dragon Ball movie every 2-4 years since Battle of Gods. Wouldn’t be surprising. Especially since the powers that be seem dead set on turning the IP into a zombie franchise.

At least we have an idea about what one of the announcements will be in January. I really hope it won't be a CGI movie again; that just didn't work the way they thought it would. I hope they go with the team that made Broly or Diama instead, as both are Dragon Ball at its best visually speaking. As for the writing...I'm not expecting much, as it'll probably be yet another old idea rehashed again.

Komaki Aya would be a nice pick, too, assuming the reason One Piece #1152 only had part of a storyboard from her is because she immediately went to rush job this supposes film lol

Nah, I hope we get a movie that goes into some old forgotten lore of the franchise. I wanna see Piccolo Daimao's first battle with Kame-Sen’nin, Tsuru-Sen’nin , and Mutaito.

I think a Coola movie would be fun, though! You could either make him so much worse than Freeza that Freeza turns a new leaf inspired by his time during the Tournament of Power or you could make Coola like an extension of what Bardock experienced: the melancholy of a lifetime spent destroying and conquering, with no inner food for his soul. Coola as an ally to Gokuu and friends and eventually sacrificing himself to prevent Freeza's next big harmful action would be a fun plot to toy around with. Or heck, maybe Coola winds up adopting Kuriiza to raise him free of Freeza's warped sensibilities?

There's tons to play around with there.

I just hope that if this is true, they bring back Norihito Sumitomo or some new composer, because Super Hero and Daima had the most forgettable and generic music in the franchise.

If the movie's writing ends up being something I'll enjoy, I can concede having to deal with cgi, even if I prefer hand drawn animation.

Daima reinforced to me that if I'm not enjoying the writing, all the beautiful animation in the world isn't going to make up for it.

Whatever this movie ends up being, it'll likely be the very final project Toriyama had any real involvement in. Whether or not that means he was able to complete a full script or just an outline remains to be seen however.
