Were the U.S. DVD/Bluray Dragon Ball Z Kai Parts 1-4 ever rereleased with the Kikuchi score?

Discussion specifically regarding the "refreshed" TV version of DBZ created in Japan for its 20th anniversary, including individual threads for each episode.

Were the U.S. DVD/Bluray Dragon Ball Z Kai Parts 1-4 ever rereleased with the Kikuchi score?

Hi all, I've been meaning to pick up physical copies of Kai and I love love love the Yamamoto soundtrack so I have been considering the idea of picking up the Part 1, 2, 3, 4, because those are likely to have the Yamamoto score on them while the Collections 1-2 will most likely have the Kikuchi score if I order them new. I already know Part 5 onward is Kikuchi no matter which release I choose.

If my memory serves me, the initial run of the Collections 1-2 had Yamamoto and they very quickly switched over to Kikuchi for subsequent reprintings, correct?

So my question is, did they ever reprint the "Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4" with the Kikuchi score? If I wind up shelling out the money on these specific releases, will they for sure have the Yamamoto score? Thanks!

I don't think Parts 1-3 were ever reprinted with the Kikuchi score in the US, so you would be fine with those. I read somewhere that they were reprinted with the Kikuchi score in Australia, but I've never heard anyone report on this being the case with the US release.

Part 4 is a different story. I heard some copies had Yamamoto, others had Kikuchi despite Yamamoto being credited on the cover, so if your getting those be sure to check with the seller before buying and go for used as it wouldn't be worth taking the chance with a new copy.

Season 1 was initially released with the Yamamoto score before selling out and being reprinted with Kikuchi, but season 2 (at least in the US, UK season sets have Yamamoto for episodes 1-39 on Blu-Ray, that of course includes half of season 2) always had Kikuchi. Either way the US season 1 Yamamoto variant is long gone and new copies will 100% have Kikuchi's score.

It sounds like you want consistency for episodes 1-52 though? If you do then the season sets won't do it and the parts are the way to go.
