So, between Super: Beerus coming and eventually Super: The Galactic Patrol, do you think it's possible Crunchyroll will play the episodes in theaters like they did with Daima back in November 2024? Honestly, I'm fine with it because unlike Daima's first 3 episodes (where nothing too eventful happened to warrant a theatrical release), Super: Beerus releasing in theaters would possibly cover the entirety of the 6 episodes to basically be a Battle of Gods movie re-release. But even if it didn't, if Crunchyroll just releases the first 3 episodes of Super: Beerus, it'd STILL be more eventful than what happened in Daima (like SSJ3 Goku vs. Beerus, for example).
And imagine Super: The Galactic Patrol playing in theaters with the dub for the first time like Daima did. I'm almost 100 percent positive that would do MUCH better than Daima did (especially with how long people have been waiting for Super and wanting it more than Daima). And from what I remember, I think Daima's dub did pretty well for itself for its theatrical release. And many people were hoping a movie would get announced at the Genkidamatsuri. Well, packaging maybe the first 3 episodes of Super: The Galactic Patrol and debuting/releasing it in theaters would be a good compromise in lieu of a movie, I think.
I mean, maybe they'll play all the remastered arcs in theaters? Honestly though, I think only Super: The Galactic Patrol would warrant a movie release ultimately. Especially because we've already seen the other arcs so they might bomb at the box office. Thoughts?
Will Crunchyroll play Super in theaters like Daima?

It's not impossible. Call back in a year to see if it happens or not.

I suppose anything's possible. I didn't expect it to happen for Daima, but I guess if TOEI is really confident in this new version of Super (which they clearly are as the Beerus trailer feels like a trailer for a feature length film) it could happen.

I'm only bringing it up because anime playing in theaters is more popular and common than ever now. Look at Dan Da Dan and Chainsaw Man, for example. And if Crunchyroll and Toei felt confident enough to play Daima in theaters (probably because of Super Hero's success), then just showing the first three episodes of Super: The Galactic Patrol would probably be an even bigger event for Dragon Ball fans. Especially if they're going with the Shintani style, which was already used for a movie, Super: Broly.JulieYBM wrote: Tue Feb 03, 2026 11:11 am It's not impossible. Also, my theater was PACKED for Daima so there's no doubt Super's return with a brand new arc (Moro) would be pretty successful.

Dragon Ball isn't as big with anime fans and young people as Chainsaw Man, though. Chainsaw Man The Movie: Reze Arc and even Demon Slayer making bank in the theater works because they actually try to connect with people. Dragon Ball historically does not.mecha3000 wrote: Tue Feb 03, 2026 7:31 pmI'm only bringing it up because anime playing in theaters is more popular and common than ever now. Super Beerus is also going to look ugly in comparison to the newer series, so I'm really not confident that Super: Beerus will do a ton of money in theaters.

Better question, will Moro or some epic other fight have people watch in mosh pits in Latin America?
