This is from the Budokai guide, for the PS2. Why are Hercule and Yamcha's hair so... how do I put this...

It doesn't make sense... it's perplexingly puzzling. Or something.

If you mean it looks like he (the thread creator) changed them, he didn't. I have the same poster these horrid pictures came from. I noticed it myself, but never thought anything of it. Just another flaw.

It just so happens I had this book. It's indeed from a Dragonball Z Budokai 1 strategy guide.

Not sure if this was their hair or not, but it looks familar.

It's also in a poster that came with the original US version of Budokai. Even when I was young, and couldn't tell the difference from a good drawing and a bad one, I still thought this was strange.

Well they're clearly drawn-on, unless of course they are rough renders that were done before the characters were finalized, but I doubt the latter.

As previously mentioned, those images were probably put into the manual before the game was actually finished. You can see that in most games how energy bars don't look the same, some character sprites, and even some of the button commands the list don't even work (I'm look right at you BT2).

So yeah, I guess it's another rush job in the packaging department. I'm actually surprised we didn't get a "greatest hits" version with a remastered instruction booklet over this..

My guess is that whoever made that thing can't cut a character out of a screenshot to save his life and thus, just redrew part of it to the best of his ability... which obviously isn't much. XD
