Future FUNI season sets episode count
Just a quick question...does the first season set have 35 or 39 episodes? I keep seeing everywhere that it has 39 but the 39th episode is the one with Bulma, Kuririn, and Gohan on the ship in space on the way to Namek....that doesn't exactly make sense to be included in the "Vegeta Saga."
So based on the episode count for Box 1...how many sets do you think there will eventually be, with how many episodes on each set? I'm thinking there will probably be around 8-10 sets, but I want to know what you guys have to say as well.

Yeah, it's 39. It's a weird thing with that Namek episode, but I'm guessing FUNi left it on so people would be 'enticed' to buy the next season sets.the1payday wrote:Just a quick question...does the first season set have 35 or 39 episodes? I'm pretty sure it's gonna be a number similar to 39 for the next while =P.

Didn't MadMan Entertainment confirm that Season 2 would be 35 episodes and Season 3 would be 33 episodes? If so, then there you go.

What I would like to know is how they (FUNi) will put the Garlic Jr. arc/filler into the box sets. I myself am looking to get the Vegeta arc to the end of Freeza arc, but I would like to get the start of the Trunks arc where Freeza and King Cold get killed. So in turn from the start of DBZ to where Freeza is 100% dead and nothing more. Just because I don't like anything beyond Freeza.

If they go with how their going now....then the season 4 set will *probably* consist of funimation arcs:Zeroplus wrote:What I would like to know is how they (FUNi) will put the Garlic Jr. arc/filler into the box sets. Garlic Jr. Saga
Trunks Saga
Androids Saga
It would be REALLY nice if for the season 5 set they could include the introduction of Cell all the way to the end of the Cell Game, so that the set 6 started with the first "7 years later" episode. Seeing as how that is about 55 episodes or something, I'm sure they'll split it into two. It would be nice though...
I kind of have an estimated guess on what the sets after the ones Madman reveled might be. This is going off of the assumption that Funimation will stick with 5-6 discs and 30-40 episodes per set range.
Season 4 (Garlic Jr - until when Bulma and Gohan find Cell's time machine)
Season 5 (Piccolo and Kami fuse until the last episode before the Cell games)
Season 6 (Cell games up to Goku's Return)
Season 7 (World Tournament to when Buu splits apart)
Season 8 (Buu and Evil Buu split until the end)
Season 4 (Garlic Jr - until when Bulma and Gohan find Cell's time machine)
Season 5 (Piccolo and Kami fuse until the last episode before the Cell games)
Season 6 (Cell games up to Goku's Return)
Season 7 (World Tournament to when Buu splits apart)
Season 8 (Buu and Evil Buu split until the end)
It SHOULD be:
SEASON 1: Saiyan Saga (Vegeta Saga) - They did this correctly
SEASON 2: Namek Saga and Ginyu Saga - They did this correctly
SEASON 3: Freeza Saga - Probably did this right
SEASON 4: Trunks to Imperfect Cell Saga
SEASON 5: Perfect Cell to Cell Games Saga
SEASON 6: World Tournament to when Super Buu first appears
SEASON 7: Superbuu to Kidbuu
SEASON 1: Saiyan Saga (Vegeta Saga) - They did this correctly
SEASON 2: Namek Saga and Ginyu Saga - They did this correctly
SEASON 3: Freeza Saga - Probably did this right
SEASON 4: Trunks to Imperfect Cell Saga
SEASON 5: Perfect Cell to Cell Games Saga
SEASON 6: World Tournament to when Super Buu first appears
SEASON 7: Superbuu to Kidbuu
If challenge had a taste, you'd be quite delicious.
I personally would love it to be like this however Season 4 and 5 are both approx 45 episodes with Season 6 being around 60. I assumed that Funimation would more then likely keep the sets in the mid to high 30s just to get one more set out there, however having 7 Seasons would fit in with the whole "there are 7 Dragonballs".JAPPO wrote:It SHOULD be:

Well, it's only 9 episodes so I guess they could fit it in too. Doesn't matter if they do or not.Zeroplus wrote:Where's the Garlic Jr. arc? Did you want them to leave it out? I know I would.JAPPO wrote:SEASON 3: Freeza Saga - Probably did this right

I thought they'd....actually follow the way the seasons were aired, so we'd get...
Season 2 - Up into Goku's fight with Jheese and Butta
Season 3 - Up through the Garlic Jr. arc
Season 4 - Trunks through Cell Game
Season 5 - Saiyaman through Vegeta's Atonement
Season 6 - To the end, unless they made the Chibi Boo thing a 15 episode finale set, since it was aired the spring after the episodes before it.

Well... I don't know about the other sets, but I actually went and figured the layout for the first three awhile ago (after madman's announcement or something
)
Season 1 39 episodes (Vegeta Saga 35 episodes, first 4 of Namek Saga)
Season 2 35 episodes (rest of the Namek Saga 28 episodes, Ginyu Saga 7 episodes)
Season 3 33 episodes (Frieza Saga)
Now I find this weird, because the 33 episodes in Season 3, would most likely result in losing another disc. So I guess all we can do is see what happens.

Yeah, I just didn't know DBZ was considered to have so many "seasons". I always just thought of Saiyan Saga being episode 1 to end of garlic jr, android saga being freeza landing to end of afterlife tournament, and buu saga being gohan starting high school until last episode. That's only though if you consider extended times of peace to be the breaking point between seasons.JAPPO wrote:In all reality, 3 months between releases is a lot better than most TV sets.
For example, The Simpsons has a lot more seasons than Dragonball Z, and they release it almost like 8 months inbetween sometimes.
