As I write this there are 200 members registered for the boards. Clap clap, EX and Julian, clap clap indeed.

Yes, that's great, except sometimes I wonder if the majority of them only join so they can see the previews section, since a lot of them never post, not even once.

52 members have not posted. That's only about 1/4. Not too bad! Plus, they wouldn't even know there's a previews section unless someone here told them.

Hmm, maybe a purging of all those who've not posted within, oh, bout 10 days of joining? Eh, there's no real reason to do it, but... whatever.

And Xyex, I think purging after ten days for not posting is a little harsh.

Not not posting after 10 days in general. Just, not posting after joining. Give them a grace period to remember they joined the board but if they don't come back, delete them.

Maybe 10 days is a little short. How's a month sound then?

It's not neccesarily that those 50 or so odd members aren't here (as opposed to the odd members that are.

), it may be that some of them are just lurkers.

You don't really need to purge those that are inactive, it's not like they're causing any problems for anybody. All they do is add to the numbers a little bit.

Lurking isn't always a bad thing. If more people got a feel for message boards before posting, there would be a lot less painful arguments and bans.

Eh, maybe that's just me. I've always been annoyed by people who sign-up for a board (typically something I've done for one purpose or another) and then just never post.

Yeah, that's a bit annoying. But it is better if people lurk at a place for a short while before posting. It helps them avoid making typical "newbie" (god, I hate that word) mistakes.
