Is this the only way I can get Blood Rubies?

Also, is there an uncut version of these?
I bought them thinking I would get the uncut, but it turns out they were the edited versions.

The uncut version is only available in Australia (Region 4 and PAL). It also has the first movie, but it's still cut. It may have something to do with 'Kid Mark' still holding the license.

Before FUNimation released things themselves, they gave the video distribution license for the 1995 dub of DB (episodes 1-13, and the hackjob of DB Movie 1) to Kidmark, now Lion's Gate. They did the same thing with their first dub of DBZ (episodes 1-67, which were hacked down to 53 episodes, and DBZ Movies 1-3), except that it went to Pioneer instead. Pioneer's license was a lot more clearcut, and actually expired in...2003 or 2004? After it ran out, FUNi started releasing those episodes of DBZ uncut with their Texas cast, and their redubs of the movies.

But as for Kidmark/Lion's Gate, their license is apparently a lot more flexible, and the word is that they keep renewing it. FUNi did redub DB 1-13 with the Texas cast and Japanese music when the show started over on Cartoon Network in 2001, but they didn't have the rights to release those episodes on video. They were, however, able to give their uncut material of those episodes to Madman, who releases PAL versions of FUNimation's DB/Z/GT releases in Australia, presumably because Kidmark's license only applies to North America.

As for when, no one really knows. :? Personally, I've been waiting many years, and at this point, I'm just so pessimistic about it ever happening. Hooray for the upcoming R2 singles, at least!
