"TV Broadcast" Track
OK, as we know, FUNi is going back and re-dubbing certain lines for various reasons. Either the Voice Actor is different, VA is trying to copy the one there before him, or the line may just suck. Now then, we know FUNi is going to release a track with Faulconer's Dub music, so this raises this question. In the Season 2 set, when it gets to Capt. Ginyu, will the "TV Broadcast" Track, not only have Faulconers music, but the old stuff aswell, like "Mondo Cool", and Sabat trying to impersonate Drummond? While the Original JP Music track will have the updated Dub Diolauge?
I think this is possible because I noticed something with the Season 1 Box Set. On the TV Broadcast Track, when Goku falls off snake way, he bumps his head & while falling says (in a dream like voice, cause he's asleep) "Boy King Kai, when you start training you don't fool around" (or something like that). Yet on the Original Music Track that line is gone & just replaced with snoring.
Whhat would you think if this was the case? Personally, I'd love it, it'd retain the "classicness" of the Dub aswell as giving us an update.

I hope someone eventually makes a list of all the lines that were changed. Perhaps a thread would suffice? Like every time someone finds a line re-dubbed, they could throw it in that thread. Like the on going "Show off your DragonBall crap". I dont know if that goes against any Daizex laws though...

I'm not so sure any lines will be altered for the dub w/t broadcast music track. You can go to the season 1 episode where Goku first uses Kaioken against Vegeta, Vegeta says "That Kaioken (proper pronunciation) is a nice trick" while in the dub w/t Japanese music track, it's re-redubbed into "That Kayoken (FUNi pronunciation) is a nice trick". I've switched between audio tracks for this instance to confirm this, and it seems to be the case. Also, the music in the ending sequence of that broadcast music track is that Ultimate Uncut "java-lava" music by Menza.

YOU'RE RIGHT!!! I didn't even notice that and I watched through all 39 episodes in both Dubs. It's strange that I wouldn't notice that considering that I thought it was so awesome how Vegeta pronounced it right when the episoded aired on CN.

I can understand why they redubed it. If Goku said Kayo-Ken, why would Vegeta call it Kaio-Ken? I wish they'd taken the alternitive though and redubed every time Goku called it Kayo-Ken.Lavender Saiyan wrote:YOU'RE RIGHT!!! Can someone point me to a clip where someone calls it Kaio-ken, because I don't really know what to imagine.Taku128 wrote:I can understand why they redubed it. Instead of pronouncing it K.O. Ken, saying the names of the letters, he says it Kaio-Ken, pronounced like they pronounce Kai in King Kai, and then the name of the letter O.Pieter wrote:Can someone point me to a clip where someone calls it Kaio-ken, because I don't really know what to imagine.Taku128 wrote:I can understand why they redubed it. They can change the name of it you know. It wouldn't make sense to call the TV Broadcast "DVD Audio" or "Ultimate Uncut Audio" because not all of it was released on DVD, or people would think the Japanese music with Dub voices was censored.Lavender Saiyan wrote:Hey I just realized. "TV Broadcast" is a bad name for the track. Sure it's good for the Saiyan & Namek Saga's. But not the Capt.Ginyu+ since when those aired on TV they were Edited

I recall reading years ago on Chris Psaros' site that there was actually an instance of an episode title being changed after the first broadcast, specifically the episode where Vegeta fights Recoome. I think it was, apparently, titled "The Relentless Recoome" the first time and then was changed to "No Refuge From Recoome" afterwards for whatever reason.
Is there any truth to this?

Oh, hey. Did anyone wonder what the fate of Episode 68 will be on the TV Broadcast Track? I mean the first half of that Episode was originally Dubbed in the Ocean Dub Ep.53 while the second half was apart of the 30 Minute Episode 54 by FUNi's old Numbers which was the second half of Episode 68 aswell as all of 69.
So if the TV Broadcast Track is leaving the old '99 Dub Voices intact that means that the first half of Episode 68 on the new Box Set will be Re-Dubbed and then half way through it'll change to Sabat imitating Drummond & Faulconer music, lol. Or maybe just for #68 they'll give an entire Re-Dub and start the '99 Dub with Ep.69.

Well, the "Ginyu saga" (7) episodes will be in season 2, while the "Freeza saga" as a whole will be on season 3. You may have to get both of those seasons depending on what episodes you wanna see for nostalgia. About episode 68 in the "TV Broadcast" track, maybe FUNi'll end up editing together the Ocean recorded dialogue and original 99 FUNi recorded stuff for season 2's video track just for the heck of it. Or as said, just redub the whole thing specifically for this episode of the TV Broadcast track. We'll see.Chuquita wrote:That's actually the one box I really want to get (the second half of the Freeza saga) as I own only 3 dvds from it, and even then they're from the tail end of it, so I'm really interested to see what Funi plans to with them.

2 Acctually (that I know of)Synapse wrote:If "excuse me, Mr. Hot Pants" and "Don't piss off the god of love" make their way onto the set, I'll be a happy camper.
By the way, was there a difference in the dialogue for the two English versions on the Season One set? I thought they only changed the music.
First was when Vegeta beat up Goku after he used a Kaio-Ken attack (before the x3). In the original TV Broadcast Vegeta says "That Kaio-Ken attack is pretty impressive", but when he says it he pronounced Kaio-Ken correctly. However in the JP Music Track they re-dubbed the line so that he says "Kayo-Ken"
The second was when Goku fell off Snake Way. In the TV Broadcast when he hits himself on the spike while asleep he says while dreaming "Boy King Kai when you start training you don't fool around"...which is acctually a correct line. However in the JP Music Track for some reason they Re-Dubbed it to him just snoring.
