Female Super Saiya-jins

Post by Xyex » Sun May 30, 2004 6:40 pm

I remember this being brought up once before, in another thread, and the idea being presented that a famale Super Saiya-jin would be different than a male one. Even though I've already got a feamle SSJ in one of my fanfics that's identicle to the male SSJ's I've been wondering about this.

I've got another fanfic that'll have a few female SSJ's of the course of the arc. I was wondering what everyone's thoughts were on what a female SSJ would look like as opposed to the male form. (Assuming they are different at least.) I, for one, can't see a female SSJ3 losing the hair on her eybrows or getting the protruding eyebrows either.

Maybe their eyes turn blue instead of green, hair turns silver instead of gold, and their strength is half as strong as the males.

Or maybe it's the same.

I think it would be neat if you made it the opposite Xyex. That female SSJs actually become stronger than male SSJs. And I'm not some crazy feminist by the way, I just think it might make for an interesting concept. It could be that female Saiyajins attaining SSJ is much harder to do and very rare, but when it does happen, they're very powerful.

Same physical characteristics as male Super Saiya-jin. Blond hair, green eyes, increased muscle-mass (which might look awkward), and a slightly lighter skin tone. If Saiya-jin strength is influenced by sexual dimorphism, I would expect female Super Saiya-jin to be weaker than their male counterparts.

I've seen fan-fiction stories that describe scenarios like this one. They usually involve some Saiya-jin princess/half-human hybrid/lost survivor turning Super Saiya-jin after a day of training and becoming sixty billion times stronger than SSJ3 Goku. Which is annoying.

And I think the concept of "OMG THE FEMALES ARE STRONGER THAN THE MALES" has become quite cliched by now. It always annoys me when producers and the like say "the female on our show isn't like normal girls...she's a tough, feisty ball-kicker who'll punch first and ask questions later". As if every other show in existence doesn't already have one...

As for the muscle mass, If you still wanted them to look sexy, then I imagine they'd just look like most comic females, who are usually strong but still possessed of sexy bodies and breasts likely to cause servere back problems in later life.

More rare than them only turning up every thousand years? Harder to do than having to train at 100 x Earth Gravity and have one of your friends blown up?

Yes...very, very cliched now. In my personal opinion, I wouldn't think their would be any difference between a male and female SSJ. (If female SSJ's even exist).

I remember a pretty good fan-fic a few years ago where they tried the opposite idea; where Bra became like some kind of magical entity with a glowing emblem on her head, ala Sailormoon.

I've always hated that "Wow! She can actually hold her own against a man!" thing, as though that very idea is shocking. It basically says that all other women are nothing more than demure weaklings.

I think that a Saiya-jin woman's SSJ form would be no different from that of the men. They'd have the added muscle mass, blond anti-gravity air, and more angular faces.

As for looking sexy... bleah. Please don't make them have 42" chests and 20' waists and legs 5 feet long... That just looks demented.

As for SSJ3... it looks weird whether it's on Goku, Pan, or anyone else. It's just.. ugly.

Becket Anime Collector actually had a very good article concerning female Super Saiyans in their recent issue... I didn't buy it, though.
Battle High 2, starring Kyle Hebert as well as myself, has been released on Xbox 360, OUYA, PC, Linux, Mac, and Xbox One!

I never noticed any increase in musclemass in ANY SSJ1-3 forms, just that the artwork has more definition to it (ie: flex a muscle. It's now easier to see but you didn't increase it's mass). The only time there's added increase, IMO, is when they went USSJ. So unless your female SSJ is going USSJ, leave her boobies alone.

Personally I'd like it to be the same as a male, but I'd enjoy seeing the silver-haired and blue-eyed SSJ woman as the legendary SSJ, where the legend conveniently left out that it's only women who can go SSJ once every thousand years, are 00ber stronger than guys as a result, and the SSJ forms we know are simply new transformations for all Saiyans.

Whenever Goku or Vegeta go SSJ, they become a bit more muscular than they are normally. You may not really see it in the transformation scenes, but during the fights they're clearly bigger than before.

And SSJ3 Goku was definitely bigger than normal Goku.

Eh, I like the silver hair idea, but I've already got people with silver hair, so that wouldn't work to well. People might get some odd idea about the two races being related or something...

Dayspring, this is all your fault. I just spent the last hour in MS Pain(t) changing the colors of an SSJ Pan image I found on-line some time ago. Your 'green hair to go with green eyes' made me think about flipping the color scheme. And then I had to know what that would look like. So, the finished result:
Image

I rather like it, but what does everyone else think?

You did this of your own accord! I said green eyes as well! I figured men could only change their eye colour, and their hair would go "halfway" or whatever to blonde, whereas women would attain green eyes AND hair.

I like the green hair in that pic, which will now appear on every fansite as Pan's SSJ0.5 form in DBAF-2, but the yellow eyes must go. Leave 'em black, or make them green as well.

Neither black nor green look very good though, not with that hair at least... hmm... perhaps silver eyes.... or purple... or ornage ... or red! Or maybe.......... *Wonders off pondering eye colors.*

Another thought occured to me when everyone was mentioning that a female SSJ would logically not have as much muscle mass as a male. One difference you could add that would go with that theory is that the females may not gain as much muscle mass, but they gain double the speed that males do, since they wouldn't be as big and heavy, from the extra weight gained when bulking up. Oh and I actually don't care for the green myself every much.

Alright, since I saved the above image as a .bmp as well as the .jpg that's up there I was able to go back and edit it with just a few clicks of the mouse! Yay! SO much easier! Anyway, what I've got so far:

Silver haired SSJ Pan because I got curious.
Purple haired SSJ Pan a.k.a., The Trunks complex. :P
Red haired SSJ Pan which is what I thought SSJ should have been in the first place.

w00t! Someone else who thinks SSJ's with red hair are cool. That's the reason I made the Neo Saiya-jin's in my one fanfic have red hair naturally. :D

Anyway, I made a few more. Some a bit more 'serious' than others.

Blue haired SSJ but I forgot to make the eyes red. :?
A darker blue hair color but, again, I forgot the eyes.
White hair! heh, had to try this. Not to bad.
Same as above, but with... 'odd' eyes ... just, cool IMO.
Punker Pan Blue and red hair!? Done for fun.
Even Punkier (is that a word?) Pan Hehe, done for fun too. ^_^

The white-haired one is quite interesting looking I think, but I prefer actually prefer the one with the purple eyes to the one with the odd coloured eyes myself. :)
