What should be in Budoukai 3?

Post by oponok » Mon May 31, 2004 10:10 pm

I'm just posting this out of boredom: what do you want out of Budoukai 3?

Will we get Vegetto vs. Gogeta? Oh, I damn well hope so. I'll kick that smarmy bastard's ass for wasting fifteen minutes of my life in GT. Gogeta didn't do much in movie 12, and in GT he SUCKS (which I guess just adds another SUCK to GT's great big palette of SUCK).

What SHOULD be in Budoukai 3? Well, pretty much every character in Budoukai 2 would work, thought I'm sure no one would care if Android 20 was left out (but maybe he should be kept in for the sake of leaving ONE of those two losers in).

My list for additional characters?

Brolly (I dislike him, but really: has any movie villian left as strong an impression?)

Cooler (both forms from movie 5)

Slug (I'll kick his ass for the twenty five bucks I spent watching his stupid ass fight NON-SUPER SAIYAN Goku.)

Bardock

On second thought, leave out Slug

Vegeta Sr.

Pan (DBZ Pan, not annoying GT Pan who doesn't look like a real Dragonball character, like that hooker-dressed skank, Bra.)

Uub (not GT Buu-fused (another typically stupid GT idea), because that makes so little sense, it hurts).

NO DAMN DIRTY GT CHARACTERS!!! If I see that little stupid robot Giyru, I'll punch my fist through the TV, with no regrets, whatsoever. The obscenities I scream will summarize my feelings towards that little ****ing' **** son of a *****, ****** ****er.

Bojack

More Ginyu force (though who cares about Guldo?)

Kid Goku (from Dragoball, not that damned GT)

A few more oldschool Dragonball characters

Boronks (this is a proposed character for DBAF - I think the much rumored THIRD son of Goku, and also a badly photoshopped picture of Brolly. However, he should be made the WEAKEST CHARACTER IN THE GAME...)

That Neko Majin Z cat thing (...and this thing should be the UNQUESTIONABLY STRONGEST CHARACTER IN THE GAME)

Pikkon

No one likes Raditz or Nappa, but maybe we should leave them in to remind everybody that some Saiyans do, in fact, suck and don't dominate the series.

King Cold (yeah, right)

Gogeta

More random fusions (Krillin - Tien, Goku - Gohan, Piccolo - Vegeta, Frieza - Goku, Krillin - Brolly (Krolly?), so on, so forth...) Perhaps fusion could just be a move for every character, and one would just fuse with a character of choice, like a team character, or just a random one for added chaos.

Now, what I'd like to see in terms of gameplay are as follows:

I think one should be able to customize their own character and level up, so that you can actually have differences in power in your own personal saved character compared to someone else's (like levels 1-99). Also, Super Saiyan and other transformations should have more effect, though I wouldn't want to make the characters without transformations (ie humans) totally outclassed with no chance. Also, powering up, as well as normal Ki blasts and transformations should be more... I don't know... cinematic... energetic... dust clouds... flashes... SOMETHING. Ozaru would be cool, but not practical for the Budoukai gameplay system (though one could just equip a "tail" capsule for a Saiyan. Maybe it could just be a move or something (artifical moonlight). I don't know... Also, new transformations for characters that don't take place in the series would be cool (SS2 Trunks, Goten, Vegetto. SS3 Vegeta, Trunks, Goten,Vegetto, Brolly). My last idea would be for a tag mode, so two players could fight on the same side. This could be cool for fusion, too. Maybe a third character could be just a "jump-in" character, who just performs a strong surprise attack. This could be really cool, because characters who can't really compete with the characters in the game could be added, like Roshi, Puar, Guldo, and Yajirobe. Does this sound a little too much like Marvel vs. Capcom or Rival Schools...? I think it would work a lot more for DBZ, though. It may finally give us some of the classic DBZ intensity that the previous Budoukai's were missing.

More Costumes! Oldschool Vegeta!

Stages?

All those in Boudokai 1 & 2, except the wierd ruins one... I don't think that exists in Dragonball. I miss the Goku vs. Vegeta battlefield from the first game. And Kami's lookout. King Kai's planet (if you go far enough, you should be able to fight upside down)? Hell? Can't think of any others I'd want... No damn dirty GT stages!

None of these features will likely be in the game. Oh, well.

What do you people want to see?

I think you're genius for the jump in of a third character (for its usage of charas like Kamesenin), but a total dick for wanting Boronks. You expect them to leave out GT but include AF? WTF?!

I'd like to see even more rehashed, updated old-school music. Let's get a new instrumental of "Hikari no WILLPOWER" going! The music has been simply decent... it almost sounds like Faulconer got access to the Japanese music scene.

More characters. Yeah. Don't care who... just... want... more...

I wonder if anybody would play as the budoukai announcer if he were a playable character.

Costumes could be: early budoukais (21st-23rd), 25th (mustache), 28th (old)
Attacks: Announces self and opponent which could confuse the opponent for a few seconds, "Disqualification": a devastating technique that reduces life bar by a full colour, Microphone throw

I take it Boronks shouldn't be added, then?

I think countless 14 year-olds (who can't read or write) all over the world (America) will be disappointed.

I can at least JOKE about AF because it isn't real. GT causes only depression, because people worked and were actually paid for it to exist.

I'll list some of the things I think would take Budokai to a legendary god like gaming experience...not that I expect to ever see any of these ideas used, but one can dream...

1. A REAL story mode, no dragonmode. The perfect option would be to have an entire world to explore in 3-D, like an RPG.

2. Choose ANY character you want, and experpeince a different story events based on that. Super Sonic warriors is already doing it, and I love the idea.

3. A training mode to build your stats. No more damn generic characters and capsules. Being able to build your stats like an RPG through various training sessions would let you build your character anyway you wish. (No more Raditz beating SSJ2 Gohan...guh)

4. Costumes would not be fixed. Clothing could be aquired and won for bonuses, plus looking cool. (I.E. Saiyaman shades guards against Taiyo-ken, etc). Everyone can wear anything. Gi's, Saiyan armor, you name it.

5. More characters...seriously, they need to include every movie villian, and more funky fusions. This is the time to be creative, not regurgitate.

Hm.. Actually, man. O.o It's a good thing he could do that. While it is strange, look at it this way. What about if you play Raditz and can't beat SSJ2 Gohan to save your life?

Then I'll go train my spikey haired ass until I'm atleast a SSJ. It's rediculouse to have a weak character able to hurt another one who's light years ahead.

Besides if I was fighting somone's custom SSJ2 Gohan, I would just be asking to get hurt if I used a Saiyan-arc leveled Raditz.

I don't mean in a future game. I meant in Budoukai 1 and 2. It's a good thing that Raditz is capable of hurting Gohan in those games, because it'd suck if you were playing him and couldn't even touch, well, most of the figters. Man, poor Raditz is shafted in Budoukai.

Ah, well I was talking about a future game. I don't mean having default characters who are more insanely powerful than others, because then no one would play as those characters...

And what do you mean Raditz got shafted in Budokai? I think that was the first series where they even allowed you to play as him, and he wasn't half bad.

If you kept the power levels true to the series, then most characters would be impossible to simply pick and play. Yeah, Goku's strongest. But who wants to have to play as him in order to have a chance? And how many people want to spend hours increasing power on a character they do like to even attempt combat with anyone else? Very frustrating.

But anyway...

Characters: Bardock! (with his teammates as special-attack allies). First-appearance Yamucha. Piccolo Daimao (Special Attack: Hiccup-a-Kid). Puar (able to transform into various weapons, copies of opponents, etc). Chibi Vegeta (evil non-kawaii psycho kiddy). Neko Majin (same way that oponok described him). Chibi Pan (cute super-kawaii big-eyed kiddy). Arale (a la Neko Majin). Chibi Piccolo (evil/cute!). Teen Chibi Trunks. Teen Goten. Little Black Kitty on Dr. Brief's Shoulder (we all know that it's really a super powerful alien bent on world domination). All the old DB characters...

Sure, we won't get any of these guys, but it's nice to dream...

No, no. Goku wouldn't start off with all of his power. EVERYONE would start at a PL of 1. You want to go SSJ? Then train him until he can. That way it's all even at the start, and if you really feel like making it like the show you can train everyone until their PL's are where they were at the end of the show. Or you could train Nappa and Radtiz up to SSJ4 (since it's in this game) and just pound everyone with them. :D

If they put in Goku's gi from GT, more fighting maneuvers, and a movie mode, I'll be happy.

You'd still be stuck spending hours leveling up a character before you can even play the main modes. That sort of thing should, if it's there, be optional.
