Kuriiza Final Form in Dragonball Z 2

Post by 707 » Thu Jun 03, 2004 6:01 am

(NOTE: I'm not one to spell Freeza's name all crazy and Japanese, but Kuriiza makes more sense because of the pun)

You can select Kuriiza by selecting Freeza's 3rd costume in the game. But if you equip Freeza with his regeneration card before the match (Freeza's Spaceship) you can get Kuriiza final form instead of Metal Freeza. It was quite the surprise!

Someone should front page this shit.

What's his final form look like? Similar to Freeza's?

And I don't suppose you could take a screen cap, could ya'? ^^;;

Who do you think I am, Laserkid? I don't have any kind of fancy pants screen capping technology to use for proving Dragonball Z news. I do have a webcam... and the ability to take blurry webcam pictures. That doesn't seem to work though, so I'll just get the digital camera later.

Kuriiza's final form looks... just like his final form in the comic, so I'm a little confused about that question.

I was hoping that when you selected him, he would be a seperate character. Maybe with some Neko-Majin cameos. I guess this is the next best thing. And he has his own winpose, so that's neat.

Ah, I misunderstood. I thought you meant he got his own new "mecha-final" form. Yeah, I was also hoping he'd be his own character, too.

Eh, any picture you can take. Don't really care, as long as you can make out what's going on.

The webcam isn't working for this. I'll try something later, since I still can't find the digital camera.

I haven't seen a single FAQ for this game, just the US release. Gamefaqs is a pile of crap now that they've been bought out.

Who bought them out? I don't think the game's even OUT yet. It makes sense there's no real FAQ.

It's obviously out if he's playing the game and we've got the full vocal Japanese theme song up on the site :P. Remember, this is just regular DragonBall Z 2... not 2 V or 3.

I've got a question regarding the Japanese DB2 game, and I thought I might ask it here instead of making a new topic:

In the final level (the Neko Ma-jin related one), what is the storyline? I mean why the Hell are Goku and Tiencha (or Yamhan or whatever the fuck) on the same planet as Z and Onio, why are Raditz and Nappa there, and why, God, why, is Z black and white as opposed to his normal, cheery blue?
Battle High 2, starring Kyle Hebert as well as myself, has been released on Xbox 360, OUYA, PC, Linux, Mac, and Xbox One!

Ok, I finally got a chance to get some pictures of Kuriiza.
These pictures... aren't so clear. They're not blurry because of poor quality, though. This digital camera is just a pile of shit and it apparently can't take a picture of something moving so fast. Maybe I'm just doing something wrong, so if I happen to get better pictures I'll post them here.

Anyway, here they are.

Select Freeza's third costume

Make sure that Freeza's Spaceship is one of the selected capsules (If you can't read Japanese, its the last capsule on here. It takes up 4 slots)

Here's a picture of Kuriiza, in his standard form. As you can see, he has a custom win-pose

After you beat Kuriiza, Freeza's Spaceship will pick him up and drop down Final Form Kuriiza instead. I tried to get some pictures from this scene, but it moved by way too fast. I'll try again later.

Another shot of Kuriiza fighting Son Goku. Still not the best quality, unfortunately.

Final Form Kuriiza's win pose

So that's about it, I guess. While I'm here, have some crap I took a picture of while I was sitting here.

My setup, and the mess in front of my setup.

Cool pictures, I don't care even if they were a bit blurry. ^_^

Does the little character pic in the corner show Cyborg Freeza, or is that my imagination?

And showing my lack of knowledge of the game in general...why is Goku's clothing ripped up? Is that one of his alternative costumes, or does his clothing disintergrate as he fights, or what?

And what's that animal-type thing on the top right corner of the TV? It looks vaguely like a miscoloured Transmetal II Cheetor...

The Japanese version got an extra, third, alternate costume for Goku... him with his ripped-up clothes. I believe another one they got was Piccolo with his cape and such.

Well, it depends on your definition of "screwed over". It's not a case of "let's take all this extra stuff out of the US version, JUST TO SPITE THEM!". It's more like "Hey, while we're converting this game to Japanese, why don't we throw in a couple of extra bits." (Since it did come out in the US first).

It happened the opposite way with Final Fantasy VII, BTW. And remember, only roughly 0.00000000001% of US buyers would have any idea of who Kuriza is. Sure, the ripped clothing would be nice, but it's hardly a deal-breaker.

We got Emerald and Ruby. Japanese didn't.

Then they re-released it in Japan with the two extra WEAPONs we got. And a fourth disc with a map and monster profiles and stuff. And every person in Japan bought it, again.

Since we're (sorta) on that topic, do you think Kuriza, and the other extra goodies in Z2 will be added to Budokai 3?
