If you go to the Z-store to buy season 2 you will see a sentence in bold that reads:
"Available as a PREPAID PRESALE item. ENTIRE ORDER to ship by
May 15, 2007." I remember they did this with the Season 1 set to but they didn't just blurt it out that it would be shipping early.

So if all goes according to plan, I should have some kind of season 2 disection up next Saturday.

A dissection? I didn't expect one of those.
Hopefully they'll fix the audio mixing this time so that the English speaking won't overpower the Japanese music.
And before anyone makes the joke, hopefully they'll fix the widescreen, too.

That would be sweet, but we all know it won't happen. At least after this set, people who can't stand the cropping can just go back to the old single releases and enjoy the show the way it was REALLY meant to be seen. (Well, minus the missing eyecatchers in the Namek-and Cell-arcs...)

I can live without eyecatchers but I'd rather have them.

I actually don't like the eyecatchers. They ruined the mood of what was going on at the time. "HAAAAAAAA!!!! FINAL!!!!!"...."Doodoodoodoo doodoodoodoo doo"...."FLASH!!!!!!!!"
If I buy this set it will most likely be the last one since I would only be buying it for the Japanese uncutness and all the other DVD's after the Namek saga have the Japanese version.
Speaking of my DVD's. Is it okay to bring up the old thread, "Show off your crap thread." I finaly have pictures to post.

You know, it seems to me that that happens quite frequently with surround mixes. With StarWars at least, I could definitely hear the BGM much clearer on the 2.0 mix than the surround. I am NOT defending FUNi, as they're set's problem is too much; I'm just saying that it happens to other releases.

I figured it would probably sound better with sound speakers but it would be nice if it could be mixed for better performance on a MONO television as well.

They're probably afraid you'll smuggle various copies out of one of their cargo trains, or cargo robots even.
Looking forward to the dissection!

Are you using an actual 5.1 system? If so, have you checked the balance of the speakers? Besides, the Star Wars releases (the original trilogy, at least) are known for some mixing problems, like the fact that they flipped the surround channels.

Well... I have a surrount system, but it's not set up as so. The speakers that are supposed to go in the back are up in front with the TV.
Sadly, yes - Star Wars is known for it's surround sound's shoddy audio quality.
