GT Game?

Post by The S » Sun Jun 06, 2004 10:28 pm

I recall earlier this year that nearly every gaming site and magazine that Atari was planning on releasing a GT game for PS2 in December. I haven't heard anything lately, so is it being replaced by Budokai 3, or what?
Battle High 2, starring Kyle Hebert as well as myself, has been released on Xbox 360, OUYA, PC, Linux, Mac, and Xbox One!

I haven't heard anything about a "GT" game since then; and now that SSJ4 Goku is in Budokai 3, it's probably safe to assume that their just going to add some elements of GT into the game. But that's fine with me :)

I was hoping for a better version of DBGT: Final Bout to be release but if they are using some of GT in Budokai 3 then I'm all for it.

SS4 Goku is in Budokai 3? When did that happen? I've seen no confirmation!

EDIT: Just read the topic. Boy, do I feel stupid. Anyway, I hope that means they don't force the stupid "King Kai Fist" transformations on us.

He might mean the translations. Technically, King Kai Fist an an acceptable translation, though "World King Attack/Fist" would be a better translation.

It is very odd though. Almost every other attack keeps it's original name, or it's dub name. Even stuff like "Burning Attack", which only ever appeared in old Japanese games. And yet they don't use Kaio-ken, which is used in both the English and Japanese versions? Very odd.

No, I meant I hated having to go throught King Kai Fist level(s) to get to Super Saiyan.

lol, somehow I knew that's what you were talking about. Maybe because I remember how damn frustrating it was to transform, and stay a SSJ as Goku.

There was no real advantage to doing so, though. Thanks to the Kaio-ken's, Goku was usually stronger than everyone else before he'd even gotten to Super Saiyan. Plus, he couldn't use the Spirit Bomb when at Super Saiyan status. So, er, go non-gold hair power-ups!

Did anyone else notice that Vegeta's Big Bang Attack was basically introduced to dub fans when they bought the first Budokai? I can recall at least 1 time in the dub series on CN where he's supposed to say "BIG BANG ATTACK!" but they give him some crappy lines instead. I found that kind of odd.

Was it when he uses it against #19? Or was that Final Flash? I can never remember...

It odd though, especially since FUNi started to become more faithful with the attack names once they took over dubbing themselves (giving Gohan "Masenko" back, for instance). I think he uses (and says) "Big Bang Attack" at a later point.

And it's not like it's overly confusing. Trunks never says "Finish Buster" in the cartoon either, but everyone recognises it.

I could have sworn he said "Big Bang Attack" when he fired it at #19....

I know Vegeta says Final Flash during his fight against Goku in the Buu Saga.I don't recall him ever saying Big Bang Attack outside the games. :/

I don't remember him saying it against #19, but I know he does in the game. Vegetto did the Big Bang Attack against Buu but they gave him some stupid lines. And the Buu Kamikaze Ghosts use the Masenko (spotted the position of the hands) against Vegetto and in the dub Vegetto says something about them using the Gallic Gun which is Vegeta's attack and no one elses. Is FUNI smoking crack or is it just me?

He said it against #19. It might have been manga only, I don't know, but he did say it.

Well, he DID say it in the Japanese anime and manga, and in the English manga, but I don't think he ever said it in the dub anime.

Allow me to clarify:

Anime Dub: Here it comes! A little going away present for you!

Anime Sub: Take this! It's Super Vegeta's Big Bang Attack!

Budokai 1: Sit back...and watch my favourite move...my Big Bang Attack!
