Goku...in Dr. Slump?
I found these videos on youtube. Did Goku guest star in Dr. Slump episodes? Or is it just when Goku went to Penguin village in DB? Looks like a remake version judging from the animation. Anyone know what the deal is with this? Or maybe give a rough translation of what's going on? (Dialogue-wise obviously.)

After GT ended Toei ran another Dr. Slump series in that time slot the following week (11/25/97). It was the first fully digitally animated TV series in Japan. It ended 9/22/99 and One Piece started in that time slot about a month later (although it's been moved several times since then). Unfortunately this series uses an entirely different cast from the original and just straight-up sucks. It has that little Goku cameo, but not even that can save it from sheer crappiness. Oh yeah, they also re-designed most of the characters, and made them more "trendy" or whatever. Expect to see it on DVD in 2008 in the form of the third Slump box (most likely).
Just as an extra bit of tie-in, there's also previews for the series narrated by Goku at the end of the original TV broadcasts of GT episodes 63 and 64.

So....was it really that bad compared to the original Arale-chan (Dr. Slump)? Why?

Think DragonBall 10th Anniversary Special. Now imagine that 95% of the voice actors were changed for it. Now imagine it being about 75 episodes long.Sebastian (SB) wrote:So....was it really that bad compared to the original Arale-chan (Dr. Slump)? Why?
Some people might really enjoy something like that, but to me it just feels like a lazy knock-off, lacking in everything that made the original great.

Goku is ALWAYS NAKED. It's not a question of why anymore, it's just a question of where. XDMaker777 wrote:Haha why was Goku naked?

Wow.....what did they do to Dr. Slump? I didn't even recognize half the characters! And how can you not have Arale's purple hair? And her new outfit.....it's just blah. Her old outfit with the overalls looks more "modern and trendy" than that thing! Plus that "nightcap" thing on her head is ridiculous.
It's cute that Goku's there for an ep but it's kind of sad that you don't have the original Arale actress voicing with him. She was also Lunch after all.
On a positive note: General Blue with a mohawk is priceless!

Oh, ok. Yeah, that does sound pretty bad. It probably would've been better if they just made a feature film out of it.DBW wrote:Think DragonBall 10th Anniversary Special. Does anybody have any clips of this? It would be kind of cool to see.DBW wrote:After GT ended Toei ran another Dr. Slump series in that time slot the following week (11/25/97).
