A Fandub of every single first SSJ transformation of Goku.

Post by Conan the SSJ » Thu Jun 14, 2007 8:55 pm

This was done by yours' truly just for the interest in seeing if I could pull off every first Super Saiyan transformation of Goku's, as well as practice for upcoming fandubbing in Battle for Earth. I gave my best effort and made this out to be as genuine a dubbing as possible; with music from both Bruce Faulconer and Shinsuke Kikuchi of the Japanese version, as well as true DBZ sound effects. You will see Goku's very first (and in some cases only) ascensions to Quasi-SSJ, SSJ1, SSJ-Mark II, SSJ-Mark III, SSJ2, SSJ3, and SSJ4. I provide the voices for almost every single character (Slugg, Kuririn, Freeza, Gohan, Vegeta, Babidi, Bebi-Vegeta, the Oozaru, and of course Goku himself). The only character I chose not to voice would be Pan, whom is clearly present for the SSJ4 transformation and I just couldn't muster a proper voice for a female character such as her; thus credit goes to the very talented VA from the UK we all know and love, Azure, whom lent her voice for this special cameo. Many thanks to her and I hope you guys enjoy the work I put into this. Comments would of course be appreciated, please enjoy!

If you've ever wanted to see every first SSJ transformation of Goku's in one place, this's the spot.

DaileyMotion posting (this site's similar to YouTube).
MegaUpload posting for direct download to the HQ version.
YouTube posting.

Augh, so much screaming! Nice video, though I thought the SSJ4 transformation could have been cut down by a few minutes if you completely skipped over the Golden Ozaru form.

This is the YouTube link when the video is done processing. Since it's a few seconds over their limit, it might be cut off, so probably try the MegaUpload or the DailyMotion links first, especially for the best viewing of it.

EDIT: 400 posts!
EDIT2: It's up now. Not cut off, so it's good.

Yeah, had to do lots and lots of screaming to make this appear genuine; enough that required 4 glasses of water afterwards. This wasn't a parody of the transformations like one may expect, it was a true dubbing (albeit in full Chris Sabat mode with me voicing all but one character) with my best effort put into it. The only real inside jokes I wanted to make was getting Slugg to sound like Sabat imitating Yoda and Bebi's voice tone changing a little with each delivery. Also, perhaps you're right about the Golden Oozaru part of the SSJ4 sequence, but I couldn't resist throwing in some more Oozaru "rawrs", not to mention it's kinda necessary to the whole SSJ4 ascension.

YouTube link's been edited in you guys, many thanks Magi~

It was a nice selection, but as I think was said it was mainly yelling. Though it'd make it a longer project I think some of the moments leading up to the transformations would really help.

I think you handled the yelling well, and your lip flaps seem to match. But the music seemed off it was either too load or didn't transition well. I think with some tighter editing this could have made a really interesting comparason clip for each transformation.

But yes this must have taken aaaages so well done ^^

Thanks for both props and tips, Azure. Your viewpoint and opinions will always be valued as I know how well experienced you are in fandubbing. I like to think I did include enough lead-in material to each transformation to a decent degree, all though do keep in mind I was trying to stick to a 10 minute length deadline for YouTube posting, so that's mainly why I couldn't do much more beyond the actual transforming. Also, yeah, it was mostly yelling; but I do think I gave my best effort ^^ . My music implementing indeed could've been better, perhaps I should've stuck with one of the scored-dub versions rather than both? In any case, a very big thanks again for helping out with that cameo of Pan, you were fantastic~ :D
