Is this too good to be true?

Post by omegacwa » Sat Jun 16, 2007 7:27 pm

I was randomly searching the internet and I came upon something mind boggling.

(link to bootleg product removed by administrator)

Now, if this is the real deal, I am extremely temped.

Can someone confirm this or something, cause I might just buy this.

Even if it is bootleg, this might be worth it, cause it says it has English subtitles. And the Pounds to Dollars means it's just under 200 bucks.

Well, then thats even worse. Look, maybe you don't know this but, linking to bootleg DVD sites is a really bad thing to do here.

It's not tempting at all. For that price you might as well get FUNi's boxsets. You'd be paying less for more episodes, and the subtitles would be written by someone who speaks English.

Also, four boxes does not equal the entire series. There were 10-12 of these bad boys.

I didn't know that, I was just wondering if anyone knew anything about these. If this needs to be closed then close it.

Ok, this topic is probley going to end up getting locked. Let me just say yea, a lot of people know of these bootlegs. These are actually known for there horrible subtitles (even calling Roshi "Master Goten" ). No one is yelling here, just dropping some knowledge.

Also, if you need to add something to what you already posted, you can just click "Edit".

Quoted for the lulz. Nice boxes, but still a bootleg.

(Is this something to report to FUNI? Just wondering)

I know about editing, lol. Yeah, Sorry, I didn't know people knew about these, because I ran a really specific search and these came up. I didn't know about these, and since I am really broke, I was considering buying this, but if they are in fact, terrible, and I trust you guys on these forum to know your shit, then I won't buy them.

I guess they are too good to be true.

Damn, I wish there was some way to get all the episodes faster. I have been tempted to buy up all the funi singles that I am missing on the z-store. But that's going to cost me like 500 bucks.

I guess I am just stuck waiting for funi to finish, if they even finish, their box sets, which pretty much everyone on here hates.

It's not, actually. They were Hong Kong releases, IRC, so it's something to report to their version of the dub. Simply because they're online doesn't mean FUNi has a legal claim to it.

But would they do a cease and desist form against the site selling the bootlegs? It's the site I was wondering about.

How do you sue a British site. And isn't Hong Kong still under British dominion, or am I nitwit from not having slept or eaten in over 32 hours?
