Cell's structure.

Discussion regarding the entirety of the franchise in a general (meta) sense, including such aspects as: production, trends, merchandise, fan culture, and more.

Cell's structure.

Post by Muten Turtel » Mon Jun 14, 2004 7:42 pm

I have a problem with this. In the beginning of the cell saga, Cell says that he has taken Cells from Frieza, King Kold, Vegeta, Goku, Gohan, Piccolo, Nappa to name a few.

I am confused reguarding his solar flair technique. Did he get it from Krillan, Tenshihan or both? I mean he knows Destructo Disc and showa no other of Tenshinhans ablities, maybe why he considers Tenshinhan a Small-Fry before getting blasted with the Shin-Kikoho ( the attack he uses on second stage cell to stall for 18.)

So I guess what I'm is for a discussion to enlighten me on the subject,
thank you.

I don't really think it matters where Cell learned the Taiyo-Ken, like Kuririn says to Piccolo, it's not that hard to learn & use.

Have we got an actual, complete list of whose cells, er, Cell was made up from?

As a possible answer though, Gero was apparently monitoring Goku during his Budokai fight with Tenshinhan, so it's possible he somehow scanned Tenshinhan then and picked up the Solar Flare technique (and no, I don't know the Japanese name of that move. Sorry.) And he then implanted knowledge of that move into Baby Cell.

Liam, the Japanese name for it is written right above you in Deus' post.

Freeza, King Kold, Vegeta, Goku, Gohan, Piccolo, Nappa are for sure because cell mentions them when he introduces himself to Piccolo.

Krillan says he thinks Cell has some of his DNA.[/quote]

Heheh, I think me and PsyLiam have a system of ignoring each others messages.

Anyways, I don't think Nappa was actually part of Cells design, that was added by Funimation. The only ones they actually mention Goku, Piccolo, Vegeta, Freeza, King Cold, and Gohan I think.

I know he didn't get Nappa's cells, and I don't recall him ever saying he had Gohan's...

The only people Cell mentions having cells from are Gokuu, Piccolo, Vegeta, Freeza, and Freeza's father.

But the answer is pretty simple: Cell picked up Taiyouken from Gokuu! Gokuu used it against Tenshinhan(s) at the 23rd Budoukai, and possibly somewhere else that I've forgotten.

THANK YOU! That's exactly what I thought! Everyone kept confusing me by saying that he had Son Gohan's cells, but I was right...

Ahem. Enough gloating. But seriously, I know Cell only had Goku, Piccolo, Vegeta, Frieza, and Cold Ou's cells, but everyone kept telling me he had all of the Z Fighters and villains' Which brings up an interesting point... if he had two Saiyans' DNA, two Changelings', and one Namekian's... why did he look more like a Namekian? Or was it just an outer casing Gero designed?

I doubt Cell's skin color was inherited through Piccolo's DNA. It seems like Cell's DNA was based off a large insect, which would explain his various evolutions.

Maybe Cell had the DNA of grasshoppers or cicadas or something mixed in as well. I think we can safely say Gero was a mad scientist, after all, so I can easily picture him tossing in some bug cells just for the hell of it.

That just might be true. Considering the fact that his little robot that went around collecting the cells in the first place was in the form of a wasp or bee, he may have just had a liking for insects.

Goku knows Taiyo-Ken, he uses it against Vejiita. I'm not sure about Destructo Disk though.

I figured when the showed Cell's shedded skin it looked more like a cicada but that's me. Who on Earth told you that Cell had Gohan's DNA? If he did then Cell would've had the upper-hand knowing Gohan's potential and using it against him if anything.

On the multi-form dealy: The way Cell used it, it looked more like Piccolo's when he was training before Vegeta and Nappa showed up but I could be wrong. Taiyo-Ken was acquired from Goku since he knew it so I doubt Tien was part of Cell's composition.

Cell's skill color kinda resembles a bit of Frieza's and Piccolo's, he does have purple spots right? Ehh, I think I need to re-watch the Cell Saga my mind is slowly degrading. *looks for his Geritol*

Actually, I think he was. I watched that episode today, and I believe Gohan or Trunks asked Piccolo why Cell had "Tenshinhan and those other guys'" ki.

I'll go re-watch those episodes today to be sure.

And Cell is constructed from a gasoline powered toaster oven.
