Sparking! 4 or Budokai 4?

Post by Rory » Fri Jun 29, 2007 6:24 am

Now that Sparking! Meteor is currently being developed, it'll come and go pretty quickly like previous Sparking games.
Now, what I'm gonna ask is, after this game has been released, we've played, we've finished ect. What would you want to happen?
Would you like Dimps to come back, and make Budokai 4? Or would you prefer Spike to keep on going with the Sparking series?
I personally would much prefer a Budokai 4, I seriously think they've done all they can with Sparking, and it just doesn't have as much replay value to me as the Budokai games (I still casually play Budokai 3 to this day).
So, what do you guys think?

Hmm...how about a Final Fight-esque side-scrolling beat-'em-up with 16-bit era graphics?

Well, I'D buy it.

(I am trying [just send the complain letter] to get my Budokai 3 GH defect replaced, till then...I will say that I played a little Budokai 3 which sucks. I do the last attack for some reason... I need a guide on it...)
Umm, there will not be a Sparking 4, or Budokai 4, if there is it will be under another name, my theory is that every great game gets the most, three releases, why? To change it before you get bored of the series, I mean many people like Budokai 3 but then why no sequel? See? Anyway, I like the Sparking series better, easier to have fun.

Meh, I don't really care for Budokai3... at all, really. But another sparking game, unless it's bloody well perfect (Basically meaning Spike uses like every non-contradicting fan idea out there, wouldn't it?), would be worthless, really.

If I say anything else, this would turn into another "What new kind of DB game do you want?" thread... ^_^

I just want Dimps to develop a completely new Dragon Ball experience separate from their Budokai games. I just don't like Spike.

I personally hate Spike, not for the games, but for the character designs, they're fucking horrible.

Budokai 4 would be awesome. I personally found Sparking! more of an annoyance to play.

Me? I'd rather see: A) a sequel to Super DBZ with more characters & stages. (The combat was so fun in that game) or B) a DB/DBZ adventure/platformer game in the style of Zelda/God of War. (Sagas was a step that direction, but sadly marred by a poor developer & a rushed schedule.)

Sparking & Budokai were fun, but both series pretty much exhausted themselves. (I'm still buying Sparking! METEOR, though. Shoot me.)

WIN

That idea just made my month. Thank you. I can picture it now...

Lego Goku simply switching hair pieces to transform to Super Saiyan...

Lego Freeza getting chopped in half, only to just put himself together again...

Actually, that's probably the case.

Both the Budokai Series and the Sparking! series are great, but they've both run their course now with the addition of METEOR.

I guess at this point, people want something different, like Budokai and Sparking combined, or another Super DBZ.

I dunno, its been 3 years since thelast Budokai, give it a nice little makeover, some prettier graphics, work on a great new fighting system, and we could have ourselfs a legend.

Isn't that what Shin Budokai (pretty graphics aside) is for? Either way, fighting games have been done to death.

I don't know, if Capcom were to drop another 2D Street Fighter title it would be eaten up.

I kind wish that they would do a Budokai 4 or atleast port they two Shin Budokais together with the full B3 and Impact rosters.

I meant DBZ fighting games are done to death. Not fighting games in general.

A DBZ fighting game might stand a chance if it completely breaks the mold and does something completely different. Of course, then a lot of fanboys would complain.
