King Vegeta ("Sparking! METEOR" Thoughts)

Post by Hero 004 » Fri Jun 29, 2007 6:20 pm

I'm pumped about King Vegeta being in Budokai Tenkaichi 3 and that his Ozaru form will be avaible.

I know there is only one scene of him fighting, other than in GT when he transforms into Ozaru, and that is when he and his men attack Frieza in his space ship.

With him as a playable character in BT3, I'm wondering about his attacks. I haven't seen that Frieza saga scene in a long time. Does he us any named techniques when he attacks Frieza? Or have fans givin names to a manuver he performs in that scene?

As far as I know, he never used any attacks. I know in the flash back he charged Freeza, got uppercuted, and fell down dead. I'm guessing he'll have somewhat generic moves. Probably the Galic Gun among them. Likely it'll be Galic Gun and an Energy Wave Volley or rush attack as his B2's with an energy wave or rush as his UB. Though it'd be for one of his B1's to be the False Moon.

When Bebi proceeds to possess Vegeta, he flashbacks to when the Saiyans had landed on their home planet and years later, how King Vegeta led the revolt that brought the Tsufurujin to extinction. In a nice nod to the Tsufurujin flashback in the Saiyan saga by Kaio, King Vegeta's actually wearing the primitive Saiyan garbs the race had sported before taking over Planet Plant's technology (though ironically they were capable of using spaceships on their original of planets). We do get to see King Vegeta actually go Oozaru in the flashback, so his form in BT3/Meteor isn't entirely a "What-If" (similar to Gotan/Gocule in Budokai 2) like Tullece, Nappa, and Raditz's.

Yes, it was a cool scene indeed. However, it is slightly disapointing that the Saiyan empire was reveled to have lasted that short of a time. It makes me think "I guess Bardock helped take over the planet".

Xyex- Thank you for your input. It'l be cool if they give him the Galic Gun, maybe make it look different than Vegeta's. I'm exited to see how he turns out.

I have a suspicion that King Vegeta may've been very young when he lead the revolt, perhaps as young as Future Trunks' age when he defeats Freeza (17?). Then by the time of the Saiyan extinction, he's at least over a 100, still maintaining a decent young appearance (as Vegeta himself revealed, it was the Saiyans' greatest physical advantage that they retained their youthful appearance and physique much longer than Earthlings). This would put the Saiyan empire of Planet Vegeta in a spot of running for at least a full century, enough to build up the reputation they did of becoming planet pirates for the Arkosians, servants under Freeza, and eventually to the point where the likes of Prince Vegeta and Kakarrot are born.

There isn't yet 100% confirmation that Sleypar IS in the game. Call me a skeptic, but with my job, I've learned that evidence is necessary in determining such things.

That's not possible. The Saiya-jin/Tsufuri-jin war lasted from 720-730. Kakarrot was born in 737.

Just another ape. He'll probably have all the moves Ape Nappa and Ape Kid Gohan have. These "Budokai Tenkaichi" games are just getting characters with no significant differences. Nearly every character has the same high speed rush with different names. Hopefully they change it around for the fourth instalment. He needs his own and brand new attacks. Anyways, I think he should be in the next game and I guess they've made a start with keeping the badge on his amour.

I don't know, they can be pretty unique when they want to be. Like with Kui's ultimate and Zangya's ultimates, Scouter Vegeta's ultimate and one of his blast 2s. Both of Pikkon's Blast 2s (er, forget what his UB is now. :?), etc. And since they're limiting the characters this time around I would assume more originality will be found in them than in previous releases.

They're only doing 20-ish new characters this time around. The fist game required 90 characters from scratch. The second required about 30-ish and saw some decent originality with a number of them. Now there's only 20-ish new ones so there should be some more originality found in these new characters than in past new ones.

I hope the developers were creative with his attacks, seeing as we don't see him do a lot in the anime.
It's strange this hero thing. Whole lives devoted completely to helping others. For no financial reward whatsoever. Struggling ceaselessly against impossible odds, risking almost certain death to help those in trouble. I...I just hope its not catching, yes?

I agree with the whole "Just another ape" thing. It's cool to have a few here and there, but then none of them end up having specific attacks (save for Super Gallick Gun and Super Revenge Death Ball).

I'd like to see atleast powered up moves they had before, like some sort of Super Kill Driver for Oozaru Tullece, or Super Bakuhatsuha for Oozaru Nappa, maybe even a Pride of the Saiyajin attack for Oozaru Bardock, that'd be a bad ass move.

King Vegeta's ki attacks are based off his skirmish with Paragus in the first Broly movie.
