Turning over a new leaf...

Post by JesseD » Tue Jul 10, 2007 5:35 pm

Okay, so I return. I finally pulled my head out my ass and smelled the coffee. I've been over ErMaC and AbsoluteDestinys' with a fine tooth comb. I would be no-where in the AMV world without. It's old and out-dated but it does make a difference. So I've pretty much cleared up all my issues:

The IVTC/De-interlacing of PAL DVDs':
So using Telecide does work a lot, but there still is a bit of those interlacing artefacts. Adding TomsMoComp, which I've found is the best De-interlacer out there, has cleaned it all up. Adding those 2 together seems to have made everything work how it should :D .

The FluxSmooth issue:
Since the guide said to just put fluxsmooth(7,7) in the script, I naturally assumed that was the command line to use. Again me and my arrogance. I read the AVS Documentation and found out the command line was FluxSmoothST(7,7). Although this does work when putting it in VirtualDubMod, I can't really notice a difference in visual quality, but hey it works and thats what counts right?

My framerate issue:
Okay when using Telecide on PAL DVDs it doesn't make them 23.976FPS, but since Premiere doesn't support 23 Frames, that doen't matter right? Not really. I add AssumeFPS(24) to the end of my script and there! Now I have a 24 Frames Per Second Script. When I finally make an AMV(read below) in the post-proccesing, e.g. resizing, I can just add AssumeFPS(23.976) and I'll have a 23 FPS video. And yeah I'll make the audio 0.1% faster so that I can attach the orginal audio when I'm done, so that it all pans out.

Since I received a nice new leather computer chair and a lovely sleek new keyboard, I don't really get frustrated with myself or the computer. My old chair was such a bastard!

Okay so told a white lie. I only really got serious about Anime about September last year. In early November I bought the first Ultimate Uncut Boxset (which has the first 7 volumes, we didn't get volumes 8 and 9 here, damn that fuckin Wide-Screen shit!) along with a Dragon Ball boxset which had up to volume 6 of the oringinal Dragon Ball. Then early May this year I got the second of the Dragon Ball collections which has from the Tenshinhan arc to when Goku beats Piccolo (best fight ever!). For my Birthday which was on the ninth of June (same day as Johnny Depp's!) I managed to get the first of 2 Freeza sets which has from 2.1 to 2.8 and the second of the Freeza sets which has from 2.9 to 2.15 (Garlic Jr. arc). And a third boxset which has from 3.1 to 3.8. The second Freeza set is still on back-order as of typing this (considering we ordered them late May and its now mid July, it sucks 'cuz the one which is on order has some of the best episodes of the series). Oh and October last year I got DBZ Movie 12 Fusion Reborn, DBZ Movie 13 Wrath Of The Dragon and Dragon Ball Movie 2 Sleeping Princess in Devils Castle. With an advancement of money (see below) I will be getting another two boxsets with from DBZ 3.9 to when Cell is killed, Movies 1-12 (12 happens to come in the boxset I'm getting), the 3 DBZ\DBGT Specials, the 1989 Live Action DBZ Movie and the 1st Wide-Screen set.

Okay onto buisness. With an advancment of money that the government so graciously gives familys that is used to help us kids (clothes and whatever we're spupposed to use growing up), considering I don't need anything to help me in that sense, I have convinced my Mum (who is a legend) to buy me Premiere, After Effects and Photoshop. Yes I am a deviant person aren't I? So obviously only the Elements versions of them but I will be happy none-the-less. As of typing this, I don't have the programs but within about 12 days or so I shall have them. I'm begining to think there is no After Effects Elements, considering I can't find it on the Adobe website. I probably could find someone to burn me some copies of the CS3 versions of the programs, but the worst thing is that I don't know anyone who could/would. If I knew someone in Australia with the programs I would pay them. But again I don't know anyone.

With my refusal to buy NTSC DVDs', again I have slapped myself in the face (not litterally) and woken up to reality. NTSC DVDs' will make my life easier when making AMVs. For Dragon Ball I won't buy NTSC DVDs because I alredy own to may PAL versions of them. I own all of Neon Genesis Evangelion (Platinum Edition) and Death And Rebirth with The End Of Evangelion. But I plan to sell them and buy the American versions. I also own all of Initial D 1st Stage and 2nd Stage and the live action movie, but for 2nd stage I don't own volume 12. Oh and I don't have Extra Stage. I'm thinking that I should just buy the Japanese releases of Initial D. Considering the Japanese version is the only version worth watching and that they stopped dubbing it at Extra Stage. So I could buy the whole series on DVD in NTSC plus I could get every Stage as well. I would love to own thoses Limited Edition Steel tin America Editions of Trigun. I couldn't buy Utena here if I wanted to either 'cuz you can't by it here. Sorry I started typing this at 6:00A.M. and I haven't slept since last night. My concentration on what to talk about is dying. I feel like the guys out of Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas.

There wouldn't be a chance in hell that I could have $5000 bucks to spend on the Dragon Boxes. I simply said that to see how much I would need. Same story for the buying of the Dragon Box Singles post.

The reason I was so suprised about Freeza saying "Teach that Son of a Saiyan a lesson!" and Goku saying "Fight me if you're ready to die" was that I hadn't seen the show for a couple of years, besides a few episodes that I recorded off Cartoon Network, and I had never really picked up on them saying death and die *gasp* and that sort of stuff. It always sounded natural to me. It wasn't until I cotton onto the whole 'Ocean Dub with their next dimension stuff and not saying die (well sorta)' bullshit. Once I was a bit more aware of stuff I really picked up on how often they're used. I dunno, I guess it was just me being silly...
