5 Least Favorite (*MOST HATED*) Characters
This is just out of curiousity: your 5 least favorite Dragonball characters (or most hated, rather).
I saw an article about this sometime ago on a site called X-entertainment.com (or something akin to that).
While I was inclined to agree with the author's choices, I rethought this concept thoroughly before I made my list, though I don't really know if I actually changed my mind, too much.
5. Dub Freeza
There's nothing worse than a good villian killed by a horrible voice combined with horrible acting and horrible dialogue. Maybe except having to watch that character for FIFTY EPISODES until he FINALLY F***ING DIES.
Because of him, I almost used to be afraid to admit I watched this show until the android saga.
4. Goku
Let me explain this, first...
I do like Goku. He's a great character up until a certain point. Goku, in my opinion, ruins the later Buu saga, most of the movies, and was the main problem with GT.
Everything until Vegeta's self-destruction was great. But then, Goku turns SSJ3, which is ugly and dumb. Then, when he fights Kid Buu, he admits he's been the strongest all along. This presents plot holes and kind of makes the later Buu saga a little tainted.
Movies 1 through 5 I can live with, since Goku legitimately was much stronger than his comrades (though none of those movies fit in the series...). However, it's when a fellow Super Saiyan stepped into movie 6 when things got screwy. Goku was, of course, still the only guy left at the end to save everybody and the one who (in a lame way) beat the bad guy. This in itself is rather lame, considering that there's nothing to suggest that Goku is any stronger than Vegeta or Trunks. In fact, it's said in the series that Vegeta is stronger as a Super Saiyan, definately up until Goku trains in the room of Spirit and Time reaches that perfect SSJ level. So why then does Goku outlast everybody? And no, I'm not taking into account that Goku, as frankly described by Pan, "is like a God." Goku loses. A lot. On average, Vegeta probably wins more fights than anyone, so there's no good reason to suggest that Goku is any superior, even to Super Saiyan Trunks in the movies, though he lacks their training, of course.
And GT Goku? Same as the movies, except WORSE. Uub? Gohan? Piccolo? Vegeta? Why do you all suck, now?
3. Brolly
I strongly dislike this character. So much hype when into this raging stupe, but I was left incredibly disappointed after having watched movie 8 (screw the other ones with the lumbering fool).
The fight scenes in movie 8 mainly consist of Brolly clotheslining everybody into things (the fact he doesn't know martial arts is realized quite early into the movie), everybody acting utterly out of character, and Brolly just being annoying. His power goes up and then he talks about it for a while, Vegeta acts like a total puss (the killing blow to this movie), and then the ending. Oh, the ending. This is the worst ending I've seen in an anime movie. Well... one of them. Goku is the only one left (of course). Everyone gives Goku their power to defeat Brolly (of course), but Vegeta won't (of course). Without Vegeta's, he won't have enough to beat him, and so he gets the ever-loving hell pounded out of him. But here's the oddest part of the dang thing: when Vegeta finally gives Goku his power (of course), Goku kills Brolly with one punch. This could mean one of two things. The first is that Goku had more than enough power to thrash Brolly, he just felt like showing off, and at the same time robbing Vegeta of whatever semblance of dignity he had. The second is that Vegeta had some kind of amazing power he didn't feel like using. He just felt like avoiding being in this movie as much as possible. I go with the second choice.
Mind you this is all because of Brolly and his stupid movie. This is why I dislike him. Also, his character design and his voice(s) don't exactly strike me as remarkable.
2. Quentin Tarantino
1. SSJ4 Gogeta/Omega Shenron
Vegetto was great, though while possibly a misnomber. GT's Gogeta, however, is the WORST CHARACTER in ALL of Dragonball (yes, that's a bold, arguable statement). Not only does SSJ4 suck and not fit into the general scheme of Super Saiyans 1-3, but he just really, really sucked. But no, he didn't dare to stop at just sucking, but he even exceeded my expectations of suck for GT. Not that there was any chance of redeeming GT by this point, but you'd think the fusing of the two greatest martial artists in the universe would be something special, right?
Not in GT, it ain't.
And Omega Shenron? YOU'RE TELLING ME THIS IS THE LAST VILLIAN IN THE DRAGONBALL SERIES?! THIS?!
Eh... Sorry. This topic brought back too many scarring memories.

WTF does Tarantino have to do with Dragonball?!
I don't have 5. I'm too manga obsessed so the only character I hated in the manga was the gay red ribbon soldier. His role was too dragged out and repetitive. I hate the GT crew because it offered nothing new and/or was plain old boring. I also hated filler ppl in DB/Z, and movies 2 and 4.
Personally Broly was cool. He wasn't meant to be THE dragonball villain, just A villain. It bugs me how people hate him simply because his arrival to North America was hyped up by fanboys. Hate the hype or the fanboys. Don't hate him because he didn't live up to what you were expecting. Using logic like that you should royally hate the entire Boo saga.

You bring up an interesting topic, your opinions were thought out and had some merit, although I don't think Broli really deserves all the bad attention he's been getting from uber DBZ elitists lately...It just seems more fans hate him, just because he was really popular for a long time even before the movie was dubbed. And Quentin Tarantino is an awesome director, and furthmore not a Dragonball character o.O;
For my own list, I'll exclude GT, simply because I want to list my top five, and I'd need a lot more to account for the GT cast.
5. Yamucha - An old favourite from the original dragonball, his character suffers a long, hilarious death into being boring, and over-all pathetic. His character never really develops beyond the Saiyan saga, and from then on he just becomes worse. Toriyama should've given him a mercy killing, left him dead after the Saiyan arc so atleast he could be remembered as cool.
4. Kaioshin - A real dissapointment. I feel like many other fans do, that if he was really the second highest God in the hiearchy of the entire Universe, that he shouldn't have been such a damn weakling. What made it worse was that the story had been building up during the tournament saga to make him appear dangerous, and mysterious, then it crapped out.
3. King Cold - A minor character I guess; but for a villian who's just coming out of the Freeza arc with the title of being even stronger than his son, he got smoked in two seconds flat. They could've made it better than that.
2. Paikhuan - I think he was an awesome fighter overall; great techniques, mystique, all the things that make a fighter in DBZ cool. But his power is ridiculously inconsistent. How the hell could he defeat super perfect Cell with a single hit, then struggle against SSJ Goku?
1. Gohan - To be very precise, the last Gohan seen in DBZ. I can never forgive Toriyama for taking the greatest fighter, the greatest character in the whole story and turning him into a weak ass nerd. Why does he need to wear those massive novelty sized glasses anyways? His eye-sight can't be that damn bad.

I thought I explained why I dislike Brolly beyond the hype: for a character with no possible (nor desired) development, he had no good fight scenes, and his movie was no dern good. Also, his defeat made no sense.
Good point about King Cold, though I firmly believe he's just there to make Trunks look good.

I find some of the characters from the series boring and uninteresting, but I don't really hate any of them. I do, however, intensely dislike almost all of the movie villains.
But Kaioshin isn't really a weakling. There are only a few unfused characters in the DB universe who are stronger than him. The fact that certain people have surpassed him helps to emphasize their strength, so I would consider it a useful plot element.Deus ex Machina wrote:4. Kaioshin - A real dissapointment. I like to think that villains sent to hell have most of their power suppressed.Deus ex Machina wrote:2. There are no characters that I hate, but there are a few that I don't like as much as others. I'll keep it short, because I don't like to make negative rants. In no particular order:
Gohan - Well, he's pretty cute as a kid (especially in the movies), I did like the very end of his battle with Cell, and I'm one of the few people who liked him as a goofy high school kid (it's about the only time I see much personality from him). But otherwise, he just doesn't seem to fit in with the other heroes in the series, to me.
Vegeta - Little things about him bug me during the Cell and Buu sagas, especially the latter. Actually, he's really cool sometimes, but I just don't exactly worship him.
Broli - For me, it's not so much that he didn't live up to any hype. It's just, I watched the movie, and I didn't see what the big deal was. Maybe I've just always been more into the story on Earth than the Saiya-jin history, though.
Chibi Trunks - I just find him really bratty and annoying.

Okay heres my list
5. Commander Red- Seems a little to ridiculous to be the leader of the red ribbon army especially after seeing the android saga
4. Hoi Guy (wizard from movie 13)- He's so pushy and demanding, he seems pretty obnoxious and makes me glad Hildengran killed him.
3. Great Saiyaman 2- Kills the whole thing for me
2. Uub- It gets me mad how Goku abandons everybody to train him and how much unlike Buu he really is strenght wise.
1. Pan- Worst charecter ever even in end of Z she's always crying is not so strong, seems full of her self, says all stuff is embarsing.

Why does everybody keep saying that?! It's not like Chichi and the Sons couldn't handle their own: they've got Gyumao to help out IF necessary. I mean, Goten was almost 18 when Goku "ran out on them".SpiritBomb wrote:The only character I dislike is Uub for taking Goku away from Chi-Chi and his family.

Because he spends hardly enough time with Chi-Chi and if he didint go with Uub, she could of actually had some time with him where she didint have to worry that some ennemy was gonna kill him. I never said they couldint handle themselves, they just needed a father damnit! Goten bearly knew his dad!
Some day, you'll be wishing for today.

5. Krillin - Man... he was SO COOL in the original DragonBall, but then in Z he becomes that guy to throw one attack that looks effective, but ends up not being effective at all, and he is usually there to save everyone's asses, only to get his ass handed to him. It looked VERY promising when he showed up the Kienzan/Destructo Disk, cuz this attack could of killed anyone, but he always misses! And then that time he tried it on Cell, it just popped! Comon Krillin... where has your mondo cool gone!?
4. Yamcha - Like stated above, he was AWESOME, then he became a nobody...he should of stayed as a baseball player or died honorably againest the saiyans. I found it odd however, that in the afterlife in the Maijin Buu saga he was able to battle againest Olibu/Olive who held his own againest Pikkon who gave Goku a real beating O_o
3. Tienshinhan - He was so badass, and so cool, and look at him...reduced to the same level as Yamcha! At least he survived Majin's Buu's onslaught on the human race to deflect a blast to save Gohan, but christ, he is beaten in one kick from Buu's lower half? COMON!!!
2. Piccolo - Much like the guys before him...Piccolo was kickass, intil the Buu Saga came along and reduced Piccolo to comedy relief. Then in GT he is just a wuss...this is not the Piccolo I remember! Comon he is the only one to actually of been able to keep up with the saiyans! Its not fair!
1. Cell - He was way too godly, and even contridicted himself when he said he can regenerate long as his head is intact, yet he's had his head blown off along w/ the rest of his upper body, and even self-destructed! Although I give Cell's personality a lot of credit, he was cool...but at the same time, uncool

She''s only 8. My sisters were MUCH more annoying at that age. And Uub gains a good deal of strength when he re-fuses with Buu.Muten Turtel wrote: 1. Pan- Worst charecter ever even in end of Z she's always crying is not so strong, seems full of her self, says all stuff is embarsing.
Anyway..
5) Recoome - My god, what's he MADE of? I know he's not an android like the dub apparently says, but my GOD. After awhile, his fight became more annoying than Nappa VS the Z Senshi. ... He was Nappa 2.
4) Nappa - *bangs his head against the table* For some reason, this guy's EXISTANCE annoyed me. He was just a mindless killer with no clear goals or anything, other than to obtain immortality. He didn't even have Vegeta's coolness. I was so happy seeing him killed off so quickly in GT.
3) Chi-Chi: She's always been very meh-ish to me, and her "teaching above fighting" rule gets really grating by the Cell Saga (how is Gohan supposed to attend school if it's DESTROYED?). I will admit she's funny, though.
2) Guldo - Did he even serve a purpose?
And I can't think of a particular person I actually hate most. I'll get back to you.
They spent TEN STRAIGHT YEARS together! And it's not like Chichi has to worry about him: he's the strongest in the universe, AND allhe's doing is training someone else to help out in case somebody stronger DOES manage to come along. IF Goten needs to see his dad all he has to do is search out THE BIGGEST FRICKING POWER LEVEL IN THE HISTORY OF EXISTENCE which is somewhere on the same planet as him.SpiritBomb wrote:Because he spends hardly enough time with Chi-Chi and if he didint go with Uub, she could of actually had some time with him where she didint have to worry that some ennemy was gonna kill him. Dumb luck. First Maron was filler. Second was Toriyama. They had no choice but to keep the daughter's name the same.SpiritBomb wrote:I guess she was a tad bit annoying..Pan is a brat..ok,so, all I got now is Pan and Uub...OH! I agree with Dayspring on his points abut Goku leaving to train Ubu. Why hate Ubu when it's not even his fault? Goku's choice. And that's the way Goku is anyway. He can't be tied down like that. I mean, even when he's dead his spirit's still wandering around all over the place! Dead and he still can't settle down! XP Chi-Chi should have realized that when she married him. Look at the times in DB when they saw each other and then he just up and left without warning. You'd think she'd be prepared for it.
I just hate that guy and his servant who kill all the people and Buu's dog for sport. Scumbags. Love Mr. Satan for what he did to them. And I hate Nappa for the same exact reasons B-kun pointed out earlier. Another scumbag. I also really hate Cell and Freeza for their extreme coldness and cruelty.
