If this is true, I hope they'll bring in a new company to develop Dragonball games, and not bring back Dimps :/

Why not bring back Dimps? So far they've done the best job of all the various companies that have made Dragonball related games. Er, well, with the exception of Banpresto and Dragonball: Advance Adventure. AA's probalby the best game to come out of the franchse, and one of the best side-scroller beat 'em ups ever. :D

I can't access that link as I'm in work at the minute, but does it mention that it's a PS3 exclusive?

Why not bring back Dimps?
Because I feel we'll get another Budokai all over again. I would largely prefer something new and refreshing. There are companies out there other than Dimps I believe could do that.

After playing sparking I don't think I can go back to Buodkai. It's too limiting. It doesn't feel like I'm playing Dragonball when I go back and play B3 now.

I know what you mean, though Budokai 3 is the superior multiplayer game IMO.

To be honest, I wouldn't mind Budokai 4 or something completely different, like semi-realistic looking character models and an overhaul of the story. Just for a change, mind.

As long as they abolish the terrible Hyper Mode and Dragon Rush from DBZ3 and make the Ultimate Moves done my button combos again, I'm all for another game by Dimps.

Afterall, DBZ3 still has the nicest graphics of any DBZ game. Especially the auras.

I've seen nothing of B3 save for YouTube videos, but if I get as excited as I do over how SB2's auras look (Kami-Piccolo and SSj4 Goku's are the best...), then I'm sure B3 would make my brain explode.

Heh. I go back to play B3 when I want to feel like I'm playing DBZ, and I play BT2 when I don't care about that and just want to use some random character or do a team battle or what have you. The BT games feel like imitations of the series, while the Budokai games feel like the series, to me.

And from my experience, the BT games are more limitiing than the Budokai games. I can do more more B3 than BT2.

Meh... I just don't like how it's constantly side view and you don't have much room to move around. Plus the matches just become: One person attacks, next person teleports and attacks, other person teleports and attacks, repeat until one of them runs out of ki. Plus the kamehamehas and other such energy attacks aren't very spectacular looking.

I used to think Budokai 3 was the definitive experience, but unless you want to spend half an hour powering up, you don't really feel all that inclined to use people who only end up having 3 big ki bars and the rest small (pretty much anyone who doesn't transform really, or isn't one of the main heroes)

Character wise, BT2 is more balanced (that of course brings up the argument that everyone's too similar), but let's not get in to that :P

At the moment from what I can see, Sparking Meteor might steal Budokai 3's crown for me.

We'll see!

It depends really what you want to do with the game... they both have the "this is the show" element, but in different ways. Dragon Rush and a bit of the (somewhat slow) physical combat, for example, in B3 covers a part of the show that is impaired in the Sparking series, while Sparking has a more developed ki system and character roster (SP?).
Though I will say Arena size makes a difference... ^^.

Personally I like the first Sparking (haven't played Neo) because I actually know what's going on, while the Budokai games leave me wondering how the crap things are happening. Granted, I get irritated way too easily at fighting games...

*ahem*. As for ps3: I'll be most annoyed if the most awesome DBZ game ever comes out for the over-priced fluffied system of today when it most likely has no need to. And yes, I ended a sentence in a preposition. Bite me.
Now, there's the question of... umm... what kinda game this is going to be?

GASP!
You haven't played neo and you like the crap fest that is the first Sparking game?! Oh man, are you gonna be in for a treat when you play meteor. It looks like it's gonna be way better than Neo, and neo was great.

You are gonna play meteor right?

So if this is good, that makes the amount of games I will get for my PS3 up to about 5 (I bought the damn thing for blu-ray when the price dropped).

Damn, I pray that this can be released on the 360. I'm not getting a PS3 until the price goes down dramatically.

It looks like Donny Clay wasn't lying, and that next-gen DBZ article 2 years ago wasn't fake..

I'm really glad I have the PS3 and the Wii. First they announced DBZ:BT3 with online, and now a next-gen DBZ game is coming? If this turns out to be true, (which it probably will..) I hope it's a PS3 exclusive and has a pretty realistic damaging system. (EX: When Goku is knocked into a rock, some of his clothing should tear up instead of tearing when he reaches 50% health.) Anyways, TGS should be amazing this year; I can't wait.

Aw man, PS3's are super-astoundingly-expensive. :(
This makes me wish they weren't.

That doesn't happen. Their clothing will only tear in BT2 when they get hit by a B2, UB or smashed into the landscape really hard.

I know, I was just trying to make a point. And don't you have to be at around 50-66% health, and get hit with something powerful before you get battle damaged anyways? I'm pretty sure you can't be battle damaged at 100% health.
