What I Want to See: Super Dragon Ball

Post by Casual Matt » Sat Oct 20, 2007 7:01 am

I'd definitely like to see a sequel to Super DBZ, but what I think would be even better is a prequel of sorts based on the original Dragon Ball. With Super DBZ's style, it would be absolutely perfect.

The character roster would be fairly simple to fill out with some interesting and commom characters. Namely Kid Goku, Kid Kuririn, Yamucha, and Tenshinhan. I'd also like to see Jackie Chun and Tao Paipai in there and of course Piccolo Daimao returning.

Ah well, I'm getting delusional.

That sounds nice, seeing how the DB series is more on the fighting and less on the beam powers, the Street Figher-like engine would really be fitting for the game. We need all those you suggested, Blue, Silver, Arale, Ma Jr, Shen and maybe Bacterium and Giran.

I think that there should be more Dragon Ball games also. It seems shadowed by Dragon Ball Z.

So pretty much Advanced Adventure's VS. Mode Roster, done with Super DBZ-style look and gameplay?

Shweet.

I love Super Dbz; so I welcome a Super Db (provided it's got the same engine and each character has their own style as the first game did)
On hiatus.

Ha, n00bs.

There's no way that this could be superior to using a single button to attack, sever buttons for lasers, a shitty camera, and a roster of 160 characters that are exactly the same, which makes them easier to play. Lol.

Kageyama, Kikuchi, and Maeda are off the sauce now; Yanami almost OD'd; Yamamoto got arrested; Toriyama's not going to light trash cans on fire and hang from the chandelier anymore. We can't get the band back together, and even if we could, everyone's either old, in poor health, or calmed way the fuck down. Best we're going to get, and are getting, is a party that's almost entirely devoid of the magic that made the original one so awesome that we even want more.

I'm all for better Dragonball fighting games. I've made my peace with the fact that the Sparking! series is what were getting right now, but I hope they get their act to get for the next series. I'll even accept a 80% roster reduction if that what it takes.

Also, I wish the they'd release some older Dragonball games on the Virtual Consoles or as bonuses with the new games,

Damn right. Games ain't shit if you don't have to violate at least two laws of physics and break all the bones in your fingers to fire a simple Ki blast.

Yeah like "simple Ki blasts" don't violate laws of physics, logic, reason and even nature itself. xD

Poppa John's + Peanut Butter + a few minutes + wate + a few more minutes and some people may find a large amount of heat radiating from their hands for no apparent reason. That said... they're probably too damp to actually burn anything. :(

*ahem*
Ok, so, in Sparking we have an overly simplified control scheme... in UB22 we hav half circle back half circle forward attack... Why can't we find a happy median? (Super Butoten(sp?...) anyone?).

I would consider Final Bout's controls for special moves to be pretty good. It's like a simplified version of the half-circle and such sweeping motions that you'd find in something like a Capcom or SNK game. Instead of doing sweeping motions, you just press directions.
