Bandai America launching DBZ toyline in 2008
I guess DBZ has gained some popularity in the States again, with the sets and video games. I may even look into these.

You know, DBZ toys were never all that great. It's like they can't make the perfect toy. The cool ones were the ones that could take the shirt off and whatnot, but they didn't have much mobility. Eh, toys...I think I'll pass. Sounds good though, I mean if they can make really good ones. Usually toys really suck when they're based on a series or something. The best toys ever were Spider-Man and Power Rangers in terms of mobility and staying true to the series.
... You took the word s right out of my mouth! Well, ok, fingers... keyboard... whatever.. Though DBZ toys lacking perfection doesn't stop me from wanting a freaking Ten and Chaozu... -_-TheGreatness25 wrote:You know, DBZ toys were never all that great. When I was younger, I use to buy up almost any DBZ toy I could find. And now I have the entire super battle collection, save for the SSJ Trunks from movie 7 special edition. I really wish I had been paying more attention when Irwin and Jakks were releasing stuff, cause lets be honest, the Super Battle Collection is, um, lacking in variety.
I think there are, 6 or so Gokus, yet not one Krillin, Yamcha, Tien, Chaozu, Master Roshi, Super Buu, Raditz, Zarbon, Dodoria, Bardock, Nail, Dende, Freeza forms 1-3, Imperfect Cell, Semi Perfect Cell, SSJ2 Gohan, Mr Satan, Kaio Shin, Kabito, Sopovitch, Yamu, Yakon, Pui Pui, Dabura, SSJ3 Gotenks, Androids 16-20, Bulma, Yajirobe, and the list goes on and on.
I definitely wouldn't be opposed to a new figure set, starting from the ground up. Maybe instead of 6 Gokus, maybe one with interchangeable parts (Like number 00). And instead of Having a Saiyan Saga and Namek Saga Vegeta, have changeable armor. And so on and so forth.

Actually, Irwin/Jakks has released figures of nearly all of those characters you mentioned. They even have figures of Chi-Chi and Kaio-sama.omegacwa wrote:I think there are, 6 or so Gokus, yet not one Krillin, Yamcha, Tenshinhan, Chaozu, Master Roshi, Super Buu, Raditz, Zarbon, Dodoria, Bardock, Nail, Dende, Freeza forms 1-3, Imperfect Cell, Semi Perfect Cell, SSJ2 Gohan, Mr Satan, Kaio Shin, Kabito, Sopovitch, Yamu, Yakon, Pui Pui, Dabura, SSJ3 Gotenks, Androids 16-20, Bulma, Yajirobe, and the list goes on and on.

Hm, might sound weird, but is it REALLY hard to make a picture perfect action figure? Here's what I think a perfect DBZ figure would have.
* Head able to turn
* Arms bending at traps meeting deltoids (the shoulders) in rotating fashion, not just up and down, but like an old GI Joe toy, where they are attached by a ball joint and you could move their arms up and down at the sides (at the deltoid area, have a movable separate part...like GI Joe, hard to explain lol I'm not in the toy business.
* Legs movable at the knees (bending down)
* Feet able to move up and down
* Hand rotations at the wrist area
* Waist movement left and right
* REMOVABLE upper and lower clothing parts.
- The base action figure with everything removed should be just almost naked (have like boxer shorts or something of that sort). This is not for weird fetishes or anything, just to make the action figure cooler.
- Two types of upper body outfits that connect (2 pieces that clip over the front and back), one normal outfit, one torn up (battle) outfit.
- Same thing for the pants, one normal, one battle torn up.
That way, they can release different attires for them, different colors, etc.
I'm thinking of something like GI Joe/Spider-Man action figures (in terms of movement) meets the classic Robocop toys (where he came with regular and damaged removable armor parts). That would be like the perfect DBZ toy. Throw in a cel or a character summary booklet and that would be awesome.

All of the stuff you mentioned has been done by nearly everyone who has released DBZ figures in the past seven years.
Check it out:
Irwin:

^ Not as posable as Bandai's stuff but it was pretty articulated in comparision to the SBC Goku.
Bandai:

http://www.hlj.com/product/BAN945642
^ The second one is the latest figure to be released. It doesn't have removable clothes but it (Like the Ultimate and DX figures) has alternate hands and a clear stand for posing.

Maybe I wrote it confusingly, but I meant the Super Battle collection didn't have any of those, and it's supposed to be the end all be all of DBZ figures.Brad Redfield wrote:Actually, Irwin/Jakks has released figures of nearly all of those characters you mentioned. I know Irwin/Jakks made a lot of those, hence why I said I wish I had been paying more attention to them so I could have bought them, now all I can find is the occasional one in the bargain bin, and it mostly goku.
Thanks for the news.
I've been collecting Dragon Ball action figures as long as I've been a fan. There were points where I was more in to them than the series itself. I collected almost every figure Irwin pute out as well as the ones at the beginning of Jakk's run.
When they started to slow down and reissue toys, I slowly fell out of it since more and more stores stoped selling them. I still consider myself a collecter, though, and I buy a new Jakk's figure every once and a while when I can find them like the Saiyan saga Vegeta/Nappa two pack for example. Now that Bandai has picked up the liscense I'm really exited to get serious about it again.
I have high hopes for Bandai America's waves. Previous Bandai figures I've been a big fan of, namely the Super Battle Collection and the Ultimate figure series. Awsome, awsome news that they are releasing new ones for America. I Can't wait!

I want Bardock and Mirai Gohan figures.
I found a site that has lots of Dragonball figures:

I hope that they release transformations all at the same time. It would be so awesome to have Goku and SSJ1-3 on hand without having to buy 3 more figures.
Be grateful the filler in Dragon Ball doesn't suck like the 3rd arc of Rurouni Kenshin.

Sweet sassy mollasy those are sexy figures. I got the SSj Goku one at Otakon, and I'm thinking I shoulda bought more of them (I think all they had were Goku, Vegeta, Trunks, and Gohan; I woulda bought them all if they weren't $20 each and I hadn't already spent too much...).Raki wrote:I found a site that has lots of Dragonball figures:

Damn, I wanna see the SSj4 Goku and Vegeta ones... I'll find SOME way to get them both, I swear it.

I'm going to be a little disturbed about the packaging of these figures. The figures will have names like Gokou, Bejeta, Toranks, Pikkolo, Mayjin Bou, Cer, and the like.
Battle High 2, starring Kyle Hebert as well as myself, has been released on Xbox 360, OUYA, PC, Linux, Mac, and Xbox One!
