Animation cels

Post by SpaceKappa » Fri Jul 09, 2004 1:46 am

Does anyone else own any cels from the series? I have 2, back from when I was on a GT kick. I have one of Trunks and Giru staring at Pan while she's all mad about something, and another of Pan about to fight Mega Cannon Sigma. Both came with matching sketches. It's really cool owning a piece of the series I love so much.

Anyone else have any?

Got a Trunks from the TV Special cel, a few Trunks cel sketches, and I had a niiiiiice over-sized pan shot cel sketch of a naked Vegeta holding the infamous pink shirt given to him by Bulma. I sold that one for $200, though. :D

I remember seeing those a long time ago, Meri. When I saw yours, I thought "I want some too!" so I scoured eBay. :)

I have one of Goku in the Saiyajin saga during that really awesome looking scene when the camera pans around he and Vegita standing on the cliff tops. It's right when they show Goku at the side with the wind blowing. I was even fortunate enough to get the background with it. I "lucked out" on it. I have Goku during the Buu saga when he has the one Potara earring on and he's about to blast Buu with that smirk on his face. I got it because Goku in normal mode with the one earring is definitely a unique shot since he wasn't like that long in the series, plus it was a good price and well-centered. The other one I have is of Piccolo. It doesn't have a background but it is a good shot and it was also a good price. I'm still looking for a good chibi Gohan one.

Hmmm

I have a Chibi Trunks from the series that was held by Harrison Ford. Got that at the now closed Anime Crash in NYC.

Piccolo from some movie, haven't figured it out yet.

Goten from Movie 11

Brolly from Movie 8

Paragus from Movie 8

And one or two others I'm forgetting that are locked in the bowels of my basement.

I picked up a couple more at a local anime convention today. I got another one of Pan for $10, and one of the One-Star Ball for $3. They had a cool one of Cell after he absorbed Juunanagou, but the corner was ripped off and it was still over $30. They had some other cool sketches, like Dabura and Vegeta Jr, but I was running out of cash.

BTW, what's the name of the One-Star Ball? I know the Four-Star Ball is Suushinchuu, but now I'm curious about the One-Star Ball.

The One Star Ball is Iishinchuu. Better yet, Yi Xing Qiu.

Kind of off topic, but I've always wondered why are the dragon balls given Chinese names? Pretty much everything else is based off of either Japanese or English, so is it because the story was originally based off of a Chinese legend that things relating to the dragon balls (like Shenlong) are also Chinese? Uh, I think I just answered my own question ^_^;;
