Bojack at DBZ.com

Post by Deus ex Machina » Sat Jul 17, 2004 12:17 am

I don't know how mny people actually bother visiting the official DBZ website anymore, but they've finally updated with content for Bojack Unbound. The layout and Flash effects are really nice to, it's just too bad they didn't have that stuff before...well, before they lost all DBZ fans above the age of 10. They have some nice wallpapers too, much better than their usual crap.

Yeah, Funimations been hyping it with the Lost episodes release. I even pre-ordered a copy off amazon.com. Thanks for the news because I stopped checking there a while ago.

Thanks for the news.

One thing I don't get though: why aren't FUNi+DBZ.com on the same page? DBZ.com seems like any other official site, meaning it sells merchandise and is only there to promote FUNi's products, yet it has a n00bish fansite flair to it with its official "Uncomfirmed nor Endorsed by FUNi Live Action Movie News!" section. Why not go straight to the source and ask FUNi what's the deal with the movie rights?

I've often desired to know the answer to that one. :?

Jerseymilk: "I see Fangirls."

What is it with corporate sites and their constant desire to use flash for design? :? FUNimation's stuff is a lot better than some others, though.

Also, I wonder why FUNi decided to insert the villain names into all the movie titles. Imagine if they decide to re-release 1-3 like that when they redub everything else.

Thats true! I mean, a lot of kids wouldin't know of FUNimation if it had not been for DBZ. For shame! FOR SHAME! *shakes fist*

So they have updated...thats...new.
Some day, you'll be wishing for today.

Wait, was it even possible to find DBZ before it was on US tv? I'm guessing conventions and IRC spread it around.

I was lucky enough to watch the first brodcast on Toonami, and that was when I was 13.

I know this is getting off topic, but are they really redubbing the first three movies besides the first two seasons? What exactly is the point of that? The first two seasons I can understand...

Maybe Funi has some kind of ub3r l33t webmastha who is down w/ Flash or something, and who knows, maybe even runs a DBZ site we all know...

My theory? Gotta be a former webmaster of the DBZ community...

They're just following in the Japanese tradition of OMG EVERY FUCKING SITE WE MAKE HAS TO BE IN FLASH.

It's pretty ridiculous. I mean, it's cool and "flashy" and all... but as a web developer... it hurts :P. It definitely IS better than some of the other Flash-sites I've seen, though... and that's saying a lot.

I remember that! It was pretty much the only good "content" on the old funi DBZ site, the fact that they had the dub voice actors do a few effects for them. I think it's a shame the way it's gone; you would think being official would mean they would have better content than a fan-site, but I could build a better page in geocities pagebuilder.

Oponok, where did you hear that Funi is re-dubbing the first 3 movies? I haven't heard anything on that.

Nobody said FUNI was redubbing the first three movies.

Anyway, the website where the characters talked to you annoyed the hell out of me. Especially Freeza and Garlic Jr's catchphrases.

I remember there was a beta/preview of the original DBZ flash layout and it said BUY GOKU CONDOMS rofl

Sick twisted mind whoever designed that layout, wanna bet he was a 13 year old otaku who downloaded LA Blue Girl episodes?
