Buu's ball

Post by peterx » Sat Dec 22, 2007 9:56 am

If we need great energy shock to broke the seal on Majin Buu's ball then why didn't he awakened when Super Perfect Cell and SS2 Gohan fought on max power (even the whole planet shakened!) ?

I know he didn't exist on that era in Toryama's mind but if we see it on the logic way?

His ball was too far from the Cell game's place or what?

---------

Anyway "what if" Buu's is awakened at that time? Without Babidi... What did he done?

Buu didn't have any energy to do anything with at the time of the Cell Games, so odds are he would have just floated around as a cloud of smoke until he got... solar powered enough to form and fall asleep or something. :(

If I am not wrong, wasn't Babidi(or Babidi, I can't tell which one it is) near the area that Goku and Majin Vegeta fought? Collecting the energy and transferring it directly to Buu?

Yes. It wasn't just a matter of energy being around Buu's ball (hee hee) on the planet and such. If that was the case, Buu probably would have been revived some time ago in the millenia he'd been underground on Earth.

Energy had to be specially collected and directly transferred to it in order to power up and release Buu. Either by manually collecting it like Spopovitch and Yamu were sent out to do, or by setting something up to collect stray energy from a battle like Goku and Vegeta's.

Remember that Kaioshin made it clear that a powerful shock on the ball might release Buu in a weakened state (Re: Why didn't Vegeta just blow up Babidi's ship? Ur... before getting Majin'd?). Though I'm not sure just how reliable Kaioshin's information in that regard is... and how much other information is missing (somehow I don't think Babidi would have wanted Buu to break out at less than full power, so the place where the ball was kept probably had... shock absorbers or something. So maybe that's why only a direct attack on the ship was threatening?).

...Meh.

To be fair, Babidi had the same thoughts though. When Yakon is about to fight Goku, Baidi says he'll send them to the land of darkness, when Dabura asks him if thats really even necessary, Babidi's reply is along the lines of "Maybe not, but we don't want their fight to shake the ship and cause Buu to wake up at half strength. We want him at full power."

Aparently damaging the shell could cause Buu to come out, the only problem is, Buu had no power, so he'd be weak.

I wonder what it would have been like if Buu had been revived prematurly with only a fraction of his power.

Pui Pui explicitly mentioned that their energy would be absorbed by the walls of the ship.

Although Babidi teleports them to other places to not damage the ship, they're still "inside" it - hence when they defeat their opponents, they get back to the same room they were right away. Another thing that colaborates to that, is that when they're teleported, you can clearly see the lid to the lower floor of Babidi's ship. I don't remember it being there in the Goku vs Vegeta fight, but most likely they got away from its position.

So Babidi teleports them to kill two rabbits with one stone: absorb their energies and not damage the ship.
