Where's the best place on the net to read and post Dragonball fanfics, or just read them?

Not to be mean or anything, but a lot of the Dragonball fanfics kind of... well, they suck. Wading through fanfiction.net to find a good fanfic is really difficult sometimes. Is there some community or something that has higher standards or is frequented by good fic authors?

No, seriously. A good amount of us are fanfic writers, who are actually more knowledgeable about the show than the average 12-year-old with wordpad, and thus end up churning out better stuff than average. Myself, Xyex, and several others have ongoing fanfics.

I started This thread a while ago as a general place to post DB-related fanworks (since we don't have a separate section for it or anything). A lot of us have linked to our works on there, so you're welcome to browse through it and see what you can find.

There is always fanfiction.net, as well. But I wouldn't suggest digging through there trying to pick out the good ones, unless you've trained for it, like I have. But since I have nothing better to do today, I'll go ahead and list a few good ones I've found, that I'd wholly recommend...

• Rebirth of the Dragon, by TURMOIL. - It's set about a thousand years after GT, and is about Goku's ancestor... NO, WAIT! It's actually good, I promise! The characters are likeable and non-Mary-Sue-ish, and the story is amusing, epic, and has an overall very DragonBall feel. I actually did some art of the characters for her recently.
  
  DBZ Short Stories by eggamagga - A collection of short little one-shots. Some are kinda hit-and-miss, but most of them are hilarious.
  
  DragonBall GT Revised by Kaboom Krusader - Uuummm... This one's mine. ^_^; I'm doing a GT Rewrite, but rather than just completely overhauling the story, I'm more just fixing things and rewriting the semi-smaller details in order for the story to make more sense and be overall better. I'm a total goofball, too, so there's a good amount of humor in there. Only 8 chapters so far, but I'm trying not to procrastinate.
  
  Goku's Humored by LauraNeatO - One of the best out there, no doubt. A Trunks x Pan fic... kinda. Either way, it's a fic that tells GT, but thanks to a little happening during the hunt for the Black Star balls, a LOT of things get changed later on. Hasn't been updated for a while, but hey, maybe reviews and pestering will change that.

That depends. Are we talking communities that are still active with at least double digits of active members? Because if we aren't... XD XD XD
Really though, the last time I did any major DBZ searching was like, three years ago when I first stumbled upon Daizex, forgot about it, then found it again... so most places I can think of (other than the above link of awesomeness) are probably closed (DB-unlimited went down recently, didn't it?).
'course, then there's the randomness boards, which feature a fanfiction section. 'course, we then have the problem of very few people going there at present... .

I don't really see the problem with FF.net. It's kind of a pain sometimes, but usually by the summary, you can predict how it's going to be. I'm fairly biased because I use FF.net, I suppose, but I've found some interesting stories on there, even if they are far-fetched.

I love all the stories mentioned above by Kaboom. I'm such a fanfic addict though.

....I'll get the self-promotion out of the way first....

Of Angels and Demons: By me. Future Trunks fanfic. One of my favorites of my stories.

And then there's the entire Altered History arc of mine. Legend of the Super Sai-jin, Day of Darkness, The Return of Recoome, The Rise of Vegeta, Red Ribbon's Revenge, and the still being written Heaven and Hell which is the 6th story of the 7 part series. The series is a re-write of Dragonball Z that makes it's major divergence after the Cell Games but is still strongly different due to the existence of a plethora of OCs (none of which are Mary-sues, IMO. Though I suppose Hotaru might come close....).

The Darkness Overcomes You is stil being worked on as well. It's deep and long and complicated with conspiracies and plot twists and all kinds of fun and twisted stuff. (And far more of an AU than any of my other fics I've listed here.)

Lastly there's Hearts of Evil which is a Buu Saga replacement fic and part one of a two part story. It's still ongoing as well.

I have others but those are my best ones, IMO. Now, as for stuff that isn't mine that's worth a read....

The Return by The Smooster is an awesome story set about 500 years after the end of DBZ following the adventures of the Z Fighters descendants, the discovery of a second planet of Saiya-jins, and the appearance of more Changelings.

Once Upon a Chibi by Candyland is pretty good too. Especially for a Humor story as those tend to be harder to impress me with.

And there's Wish for the Past which is awesome cause it has young Goten and Trunks going back in time and meeting Bardock as well as Goku and Vegeta as kids.

DBZ Sailor Moon: Specter of Revenge is a pretty awesome DBZ/Sailor Moon crossover but it sadly hasn't been updated in a long time.

The Kakarotto Saga is a big crossover and part of a series. It's pretty good, even if a lot of the DBZ characters are often OOC.

The Ultimate Cruise, while not a DBZ story, is still a must read. It's a Teen Titans/One Piece crossover story and just completely rocks.

And... well, I guess I'll mention it here... Kingdom Come is a good story, so long as you skip over all the creepy yaoi-ness in it (unless you like that sort of thing). Luckly the plot is followable even while avoiding all the yaoi stuff and the plot's pretty good.

Hm, this fanfic is my masterpiece, although I have written two others. It is called, Mr. Cell. I think I'll post it in Fanworks Explosion too, along with my other ones there. I hope someone reads it, it's not too long.

Can these fanfics be fanmanga, too? Because I know of a certain fanmanga that stars a little saiyan boy traveling the universe looking for some mystical dragonballs. I heard it was alright. Never really got around to reading it.
