"Budokai Tenkaichi 3" Music Question

Post by Nikkolas » Fri Feb 08, 2008 5:25 am

A friend told me the BT games use music from the actual DBZ anime and I haven't heard one song I recognize yet. I've done dozens of duels, played all through Dragon History and everything.

Was I misinformed?

Well it's a yes if your friend is a fan of the original Japanese version, because the Sparking! series (known in the US and Europe as the Budokai Tenkaichi series) has songs from the show.

However, when the series was brought to the US/Europe they decided to ditch all of that great music (The only thing Atari does well is incompetency) and replace it with generic techno rubbish more reminiscent of the Funimation dub music. (I turn the music off and put a BGM cd in my stereo)

So no, none of Bruce Faulconer's music is in the BT series, the only games to feature his music are Legacy of Goku I and II on the GBA.

Not to be a dick but Buu's fury also got the Faulconer music. I didn't mind the music in BT2 so much but 3 was unbearable.

Oh it's fine, I actually meant to write LOG II and III (Buu's Fury) Because I'm pretty sure the first LOG doesn't have Faulconer's music in it :P

The BT2 music didn't kill me either, but it just didn't feel Dragonball enough for me not to press the mute button after a day or so playing.

Didn't the first "Budokai Tenkaichi" use old Budokai music?

I don't know about the other two US releases, as I've only played the first one, but I'm pretty sure I recognized a few pieces when I played it the other day.

The first American Tenkaichi did but the Japanese Sparking used music from the anime.
