Goku and ChiChi's House

At the end of DBZ, Goku and ChiChi have a much bigger house. Since ChiChi was running low on her father’s money at the beginning of the Buu Saga before Goku came back, where did they get the money to afford a bigger house? Did Hercule actually have a heart and gave the Son Family the money he took from them when Goku and Gohan defeated Cell? When Gohan got money of his own, did he give some to his parents? Or was this something in the anime but not the manga?

I'm pretty sure its never brought up, kinda like how Bulma's hair changes every couple batches of episodes. But yeah their house in GT looks huge, like they had a whole other house added on. Since when was there a prize at the Cell games? I'm lost on that one.

I think he means the Tenkaichi Budokai. Maybe Mr.Satan give them money after the Buu saga, because ten years after Buu their house is bigger. Or yes, it's from Gohan.

Goku seemed awfully confident that Mr. Satan would give them money.

Maybe the Son family've been gettng money off him. Or, probably, Goku just rebult their house after all its been through. Wasn't it mentioned that he built the first one?

I think probably either Gohan paid for it or the money came from Videl's father, since they are his in-laws. And who knows, Mr. Satan might have been so paranoid about any of them spilling the beans concerning who was really the strongest, that he gave them money without even being asked! XD I'm sure #18's little extortion move, made him even more nervous.

Satan seemed to get on well with everyone near the end of DBZ i.e. the party at Bulma's house, the tourniment where Goku met Uub, etc. Perhaps someone mentioned that Goku and co were short on funds and he happily donated some to help. Or maybe it was because of Gohan's job.

I thought maybe the people of Earth gave Hercule money since he lied about beating Cell, but it was never mention and Hercule made his own money in later tournaments so I could be wrong. Never mind that thought then.

Uh, as for real contribution to the topic, maybe the animators forgot how big it was supposed to be, or (as Fuujin said) maybe Bulma just gave them a bigger capsule house.

All those suggestions are pretty good. I mean, the Son family do know two rich families. Satan's and Bulma's. But I think theres no real story behind the bigger house, just an error or something they thought would go un-noticed.

It did look a bit bigger, I know Gohan moved in like right next to them didn't he? Where'd he get the funds for that? Gotta be his job or his new father-in-law providing for his little girl. Maybe they just kinda attached both houses making it look bigger? But I think prolly Bulma or Satan gave it to them...not like they really need it or anything it was just Goku, Chi-Chi and Goten not a big family. Maybe most of the new house is a bigger kitchen for Chi-Chi or Goten's room since he's a teen at the end of DBZ. Not like Goku needed a training facility that's what Kami's Lookout is for.
