The future of my BGM documentation

Post by kenisu3000 » Sat Mar 22, 2008 9:54 pm

I've kept quiet on this for way too long, and I'm sure a lot of you are wondering WTF happened to me, and why you haven't heard anything on my BGM documentation for nearly two years now. (Yeesh, has it BEEN that long?!)
The truth is, I am indeed still working on it. The biggest problem is that I don't own a computer, so I have to mooch off other sources, like the computer lab here at my university, or my roommate's laptop (when he's not on it); therefore, instead of eliminating the middleman and typing up my documentation directly onto my site while watching the episodes, I've had to resort to written notes for each episodes. Yep, that's a hell of a lot of notebook paper, and although I FINALLY finished pretty much everything last night (with the last episode of GT), I still have a massive amount of typing to do. I don't know how long that's going to take, with my demanding life, so please bear with me.
The most major things that have gotten in the way, so that it took me this long to get this far, have been college, work, and most notably, this online comic series I've been working on since April '06.
Anyway, I wouldn't expect anything big *terribly* soon, I just thought you guys deserved to know what was going on.

Maybe I ought to explain what all this is, for any newcomers.
A-hem, OK, so back in Feb. 2006, when the BGM Collection was about to be released, I took the notes that I had been putting together (I was documenting each and every BGM cue in the series, movies, TV specials, what have you) and started to put them online, beginning with this thread. I had a burst of working on them for a while, then I went on several tiny hiatuses, until the whole thing went entirely on backburner. Well, now I've finally finished my written notes for everything, and I hope to be able to type them up at a decent pace. Here's the original, and so far incomplete, websites I started (and please note that there are a number of mistakes, so take these with a grain of salt until I can go back over everything and make corrections):

DragonBall BGM by episode
DragonBall Z BGM by episode
DragonBall Z BGM by movie
DragonBall GT BGM by episode

And here are some old analyses of what's on the 5-disc set, though there's some misinformation there... this was waaaay back in 2002 when I wrote these, and I was only guessing at what piece represented what scene; and for that matter, what piece ended where on each track.

Disc 2: DragonBall BGM
Disc 4: DragonBall Z BGM
Disc 5: DB & DBZ movie BGM

O-tanoshimi ni!!
BGM forever! If only more people paid attention to it... well, I intend to change that.
