What's your favorite dbz movie?
I really like the movies with Bojack and Janemba.
Call me crazy but, I also like the third Broly movie.
It has a lot of cool fighting with Trunks and Goten, you know?

I like, 6, 9, and 12 a lot. Also 4 since I'm a huge Gohan and Piccolo fan and I feel like that movie almost personally caters to me. XD I think my top pick would be 3 though because it's the first one of the movies I ever saw, also one of the first bits of DB I saw in original Japanese. Final reason being that it has all the old gang from the beginning, including Tenshinhan and Yamucha. I really did miss that about the later DBZ sagas.

12, 8, and 3. 12 because I like Goku and Vegeta interaction, 8 because it was both the first subbed dbz movie I saw and because I liked the original Brolli who still had his mind intact and could say things other than simply "Kakarrotto", and 3 because the idea of an "evil Goku" and a bad guy who tries to take over the universe with foodstuffs amuses me.
On hiatus.

Cooler's Revenge, the first Broly Movie, Bojack Unbound, and Fusion Reborn.
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

Hmmm... there's only one of them I haven't seen, and that's Bio-Broly (11). So aside from that...
My favorite's probably 13, Wrath of the Dragon. Good plot, good action, good original characters... a nice way to end the run of he movies.
Second would be number 8, Broly. Say what you will about Broly himself, but this movie, and his character, are a lot better on their own than what the sequels turned it and him into. This is a nice movie, with a good setting and background to the story.
Third would be a tie, between Dead Zone and Fusion Reborn. Dead Zone has a great story, good characters, nice balance of action, etc... I dunno, I just really like it. Works fairly well as a sort of prologue to DBZ, if you look at it that way. Fusion Reborn, of course, has a very nice, alternating mix of goofy comedy and hardcore action, and of course, raw, unbridled Gogeta badassery. Hard to argue that.

Ah now that's a tough one. I first went from hating the movies, cause they had no exact connection to the tv story line, to loving them because...well I grew up
and it didn't bother me anymore.
So my favorites would be
- Clash!! 10,000,000,000 Powerful Warriors
- The Galaxy at the Brink!! The Super Incredible Guy
- The Dangerous Duo! Super-Warriors Can't Rest
- Fusion Reborn!! Goku and Vegeta
- Dragon Fist Explosion!! If Goku Won't Do It, Who Will?
- The Path to Ultimate Strength
- All the specials.
....Yah I know, It would have been faster if I had named the ones I don't like

Dead Zone, hands down. It's my favorite part of the whole series in fact. I love the late DB/early Z art style the best in the series, and this is a gorgeous example of it. I love the point in time (during the DB/Z gap), I love the story, the characters, the way that all of the fighting is still on a human level and you can follow it, instead of just dancing lights in the sky. I love seeing Kami really stand up and be badass and fight for his world. I love the insane drunken Gohan scene. I love young Goku, passionate and bright eyed and running off to protect his family. Of course, I'm in love with every single time that angry young Pic shows his face, and the opening makes me grin like an idiot. The growled "then you'll know what hell is really like" is one of my absolute favorite lines from Scott Pic. I love the sub, the original dub- I love the dvd itself because it's got the missing scenes from the series on it! I think it's that dvd that has the joke about nameccian dvd players too, and that always makes me laugh.
If there's anything I don't love about Dead Zone, it's the thought of someone peeing in your mouth and that we don't get to see enough of Pic and Son wailing on each other because Garlic interrupts them pretty quickly.
Other than Dead Zone, I'd have to say World's Strongest (the scene where Goku's setting up the Genki Dama and then just gets annihilated is hysterical, and I love the Pic-Gohan stuff) and the Sluggu movie (because nameccians kicking sayiajin ass always wins. Also contains fantastic Pic-Gohan stuff and that badass scene where Goku's shorting out all the neon in the quasi-ssj state). The original Brolli is good too, because it's maybe one of two that actually has a plot. And there's that drunken karaoke scene that wins.
My absolute least favorites are the second two Brolli movies because even in the world of DBZ movies, they make no sense. And the complete lack of Piccolo didn't help either.

Return of Cooler (Movie 6) for the Super Saiyan teamup the series declined to give. Plus I like Sabat's delivery of the line "WHY WON'T YOU DIE?"
Fusion Reborn (movie 12), because duh.
Tree of Might (Movie 3), for the same reason someone mentioned it earlier - Evil Goku was pretty cool. Plus, I like the Saiyan Saga-era heros having a decent fight. If only False Super Saiyan was in this one instead of the second Spirit Bomb....

For me, in order, its 5, 6 & 12.
5 was the first DBZ movie I had ever seen (this was in '94?).
6 was on the same tape, but also the first time I was introduced to Vegeta (favorite character) ans was hooked on DBZ after hearing him shout his Bing Bang Attack! (I don't think the movie I had actually had subtitles, so its the only thing I really understood).
12, because duh?
I have to mention I enjoy all of the others too.

Hmm, just occured to me that my cousin's phase a year or two ago where he'd constantly watch whichever DBZ movie was easiest to acquaint with the DVD player probably got me to stop caring about the DBZ movies. (I never want to see movie6 again.
... I'll probably change my mind once I get to thinking about ... I don't know, Yajirobe and Gohan doing useful things or something...).
... That reminds me of a story that probbly isn't as amusing as it was when it happened. XD.
So yeah, this was near the end of that period where my cousin would pretty much watch "return of Cooler" on a nigh-daily basis. One night he kinda fell asleep while watching, and S-mom went to get him out of the livingroom... so he basically starts sleep-walking and talking, sounding vaguely intoxicated ("But... in tha... movie... G... Veg... Goku... they were out of their bodies...
"). Then proceeded to sleepwalk his way into a shower instead of bed.
... On topic? I still haven't seen the latter two Broli movies (though Lemmy's review of movie10 makes me wonder why I don't get out my copy and see if it actually works right now...), and it's been a while since I've seen any of them. Eh... I suck at picking favorites, so I guess I'll do an annoying list-type thing...
Deadzone: the uncut Pioneer release kicks faces. Though it strikes me as odd that Kami would fall for the Piccolo getting his ass kickd trick... *meh*. Since this was before the Garlic Jr saga and the Cell games... nh... I think I want to watch it right now.
World's Strongest: Meh. I mean, it's creative and all, but that doesn't quite sell it for me. (I don't really like Uiro fighting at the end. I mean, the bossfight was inevitable, but it seems really messed up for a story that was so amazingly different so far to conclude with a fight like that...
. ). Still, it was my introduction to the fact that Kamesen'nin is actually a real character, and I don't think I've heard another dub voice quite like Dr. Kotchin... (He was so developed that I was kind of disappointed he turned out to be a ... robot... cyborg... android... ur... Jinzouningen...). Egh.
Tree of Might: Hmm. Honestly, I think I like this movie more after seeing the way Daizex spells Tullece. I don't know why, but for some reason that spelling makes me apreciate the character and the plot and all that jaz way more.
And human fighters are awesome. (Crap, is Movie3 the only Gohan/Chaozu interaction we ever get?).
Movie4: Yajirobe and ChiChi did awesome things. Slug gives us another bit of Namekian mythos to think about, and Goku and Krillin joined forces to deflect Slug's ship (it failed, but still, I like how it reminded us that Goku and Chessnutman are like, totally bros, man). Though I've got to say, the dub music and certain bits of voiceing make it feel like a really long trailer or AMV+voices more than a movie.
Cooler's Rvenge: It's ... nice. I've seen it too much. I like Gohan with a tail, and the way Senzu were used was kind of nice compared to the fight + powerup + fight stuff everywhere else. ("By the way, what's a bean-daddy?"). Still, something feels off... maybe it's the dub.
. <-- clearly defaulting to the cheapest explanation.
Return of Cooler: Ah! Continuity is wounded to death! And then we just casually had everyone go on a picnic to Namek, and... Ah! I'm confused! Cooler surviving was relatively weird! AAAHH! *explodes*
Android13: I was really looking forward to this one, because the concept of seeing more of Gero's creations intrigued me. Man, what a disappointment. (Once again, only seen the dub... Though now that I think of it, I did see the first few minutes in Japanese... and now we've lost it?). #14 and #15 were boring and pointless (for some reason I wanted #15 to be super awesome...), and I didn't really like #13, and... was there even a plot? It was basically "Gero wants revenge. Fight.". Sort of like Cooler, only... less awesome. (Trunks and the fact that it started in the city and featured an icy battlefield did not come clos to fixing this for me). Heck, the only thing about this movie that I really care for is the dub's inability to avoid dropping a catchphrase at the end (If you don't know what I'm talking about, I will gladly point you in the direction of the nearest jumping fish). Hype. Meh.
Broli: I was impressed that Broli himself wound up more than "KAKAROTTOOO! *Smash*" after all that I've come across before seeing this, but... hmm. I'll say that it had its moments about like Slug and Cooler. (So really just another DBZ movie... though the fact that I was finally seeing Broli in action and wasn't let down quite like with #13 gives it a few points...).
Bojak Unbound: My copy of this one caught on a loop when all the henchmen are landing (hence, I wound up listening to the fartnoise landing for about five minutes before I finally gave up). What I was really interested in though was the Ten/Trunks fight, which... it wasn't too bad, but it didn't quite meet my hopes (granted, that's probably largely a visual thing... there's something depressing about the way the dub handled the audio here. The voices aren't so bad, but the way everything falls together... it's very ... droning). Actually, while writing this, I think I realized that movie9 is probably one of the more visually-driven movies, which is whyI don't really care about it. (Though Piccolo, Krillin, and Mr. Satan were fun.
).
10/11: Haven'tseen them yet... D:.
Fusion Reborn: I hate the dub soundtrack for this movie. It's probably why I'm finding it hard to decide how I really feel about it. (Only seen it once when we rented it and watched it in transit...). Dub Paikuhan's voice bothered me a lot here (I think he just talks more than in his filler arc... I didn't care for his Buu-saga voice either), and Vegeta and Gogeta didn't really excite me (probably because of how long it took for me to get to said movie). Still, I like the opening and a good deal of the earth stuff... and Janemba's wackiness was still awesome (and the SSJ3 transformation was of impressive quality compared to the full-episode scream+9000 reaction shots in the Buu Saga). Uh... so I guess I like it, but can forget that sometimes...
"Wrath of the Dragon": ... Yeah, it's awesome. Tapion's dub voice could have been better (and they could have pronounced his name right, for that matter...
), but I've seen this one inJapanese almost as much as in English... so yeah. Since it features the later FUNi dub cast and music, it feels very different to the Pioneer releases of the first three movies--and rightfully so, I guess, given the changes that took place in the series at that point. Even some of the dub changes ("Well, I guess we know who the bad guys are...") weren't _too_ bad, and even with my crappy Japanese vocabulary I could point out some differences between the dub and original... Hmm... Nah, over all, it has the same "epic movie adventure" feel of Deadzone and World's Strongest (though it actually seems a bit longer because it has "down time" of sorts). Really, what bothers me about it is more the way the fight was handled (Obligatory Vegeta monologue, SSJ3 Goku WTF-ness, 'the hell's a DragonFire?, ... Hemm...).
... I still don't know. I saw a few of those after watching the Piccolo Daimao arc dubbed... Daimao ws way more exciting and memorable and all of that fun stuff. Hmm. So I guess ifI want awesome action, I'll go to the series; with the movies, I tend to like the whole what-if takes on characters and plot and wherever more creative things can shine... and those are rarely evenly distributed enough for me to really pick one. (... 1 and 13 are lookin really nice right now).
