I've just bought the Babidi saga episodes and there's something and I think you guys can help me.
Alright, Gohan fights Dabura. Everyone says (people) Gohan is stronger than Dabura but Dabura said that he isn't that much impressed and also said Gohan's powers are decreasing.
Vegeta said he could finish Dabura in five minutes. Maybe this is just big talk, but I think he's right. Maybe Gohan has still more power than SSJ Vegeta, Vegeta will still do better against Dabura.
And what I've also discovered, I never see those lightnings (or whatever) when Gohan is transformed.

Well, all I know is that Gohan's strength and fighting skills have suffered a bit because he didn't train for seven years. Vegita even says this.

I don't think Dabura could be defeated by someone at the first stage of Super Saiya-jin. Dabura knew that SSJ Goku had a power reading of 3000 kili, but he still seemed very confident that he could defeat Goku, Gohan and Vegeta all at once.
My guess is that Vegeta wasn't too impressed with Dabura because he reached SSJ2 in the seven years after the Cell Games.

I assume it was because Gohan forgot how to bring out that hidden power, again. He's such a puss. Remember that pep talk Goku gave him before he went with that purple midget with the mohawk into the time-and-space-defying hole in the ground that's supposed to be a spaceship?
"Gohan, remember when you fought against Cell: available on DVD, October 19th. Raise your anger, and no kind of guy can beat you. Except maybe a giant pink condom filled with whip cream. Oh, and he'll be wearing a purple cape. And yes, I'm stronger than you and him, combined."
Vegeta knew he could beat Dabura because he isn't an androgynous freak. Time and again, beings with no definable gender have been proven to be the strongest in the universe (Freeza, Cell, Omega Shenron, Gohan), so he knew he had nothing to worry about. And I believe he reached SSJ2 before then, because he's like that.
