Is that the first time Italy will get GT or is this new format/hi-def stuff?

I'm not really familiar with the language, but I poked around and couldn't find anything that seemed to indicate they're "remastered", I'm still going to assume they are however. Perhaps they got DragonBox footage like the Spanish, I can't really tell from their small preview videos because of the compression. However, what I could tell was that the DVDs will be 4 episodes a pop, have Italian and Japanese language tracks, as well as subtitles for the Japanese episodes (presumably in Italian). They're going for 9,99 euros, which is a steal. Also, I really like their cover art. The full moon motif on DBZ is pretty cool, in spite of it being relevant for only a very small part of the series.

It's 4 episodes per disc and I think it there will be a trailer in Japanese.
I finally bought a gamecube. To bad they don't make any games for it now.

This is so unfair :/
First Spain, now Italy.
What's funny in a way, is that these contries bought rights from AB France...

If anything, I really like the GT cover art! I also didn't see any indication of it being remastered.

Their DBZ cases look pretty awesome! And the discs remind a lot of the original DragonBox discs. :)

Anyone here that's Italian that could translate the information on that site?
I think this info warrants a news post and mention in the podcast.

I can't wait to see the first Dragon Ball in Italian Language in a DVD ! :D
About the italian 5.1, it's for the sorround sound, nothing of special ! :)
I like watching Dragon Ball Z in Dvds without the Italia Uno's logo and in good quality, with all eyecatcher (That the right name?) in the half of all episodes ! 8)
In the italian TV version they removed all eyecatcher because there aren't any interruption for spots ! :D

Sorry for the double post. I think Mike can delete the first. ;)
MONSTER POST!

I'm in a hurry, so sorry for the grammar.

Okay, I could watch the DVD on my girlfriend's laptop. Here some short impressions:

- Italian dub and original Japanese
- Italian subs
- Video material is definitely Japanese, because: superior quality compared to the old DVDs which only had the Italian video material, Japanese title card AND Japanese episode previews (!!!)
- Pretty good audio quality for both, the Japanese track and the old Italian dub (a BIG improvement over the old Italian DVDs)

Extras:

- Original Italian DBZ OP & ED (What'S My Destiny Dragonball)
Looks like captrued from the original old tapes, because the video quality is pretty bad

- First Japanese OP (first version of Cha-la Head-Cha-La)

- First Japanese ED (Zenkai Power)

- Credits (a simple screen with the credits)

- DBZ World (background infos: in this volume is a short biography of Daisuke Noshio)

- Character Guide (this volume Raditz / Radish)

Some screen captures from the menus and episode 11:

So, DragonBox quality? I don't know. I hadn't compare it with my Japanese single DVDs yet (furthermore, I haven't exactly these episodes on DVD).

Original Italian DBZ OP & ED (What'S My Destiny Dragonball)
Wow, that is the selling point for me. Not that I particularly like the Italian dub, but I remember going to Italy years ago and watching it with that opening. I think that is probley one of the best international DragonBall openings, In my opinion. It FEELS like a DragonBall song. I' am going to try and see how I can go about getting one of these.

Is this even fair? Every other nation seems to be getting better quality Dragonball products than us.
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

My suspicion has always been that FUNimation does not want to put its full effort into DBZ just so that it can always re-release the same crap again just a tiny bit better then before. If they put everything we wanted in a DBZ DVD set we wouldn't buy the next DBZ set they put out.

Sure some can argue that they didn't buy the season sets because they didn't like the widescreen issue. That's understandable but, the point is these sets sell because they are a tiny bit different then the previous release.

Its what I like to call "The Malibu Stacy Has A New Hat Theroy" of thinking, or just "MS-Hat Theroy".
