Funniest DB moment

Post by Super Sonic » Sun Sep 19, 2004 6:45 pm

As we know, there were a lot of funny moments in DB/DBZ. What moment do you guys think was the funniest? For me, the funniest moment was in the dub when on their way to see Buu, Trunks and Goten stopped to relieve theirselves on one rock. Trunks starts to say, "I can write my name." Goten replies, "Me too!" And they start, "T-R-U," then Trunks cuts him off, telling him to write his own name.

I think the funniest part of DBZ was that first dubbed episode by FUNimation, "Ginyu Assault" it was called, and the actors really didn't know what they were doing. When Vegeta spoke...jeez... that was pretty bad.

Oh, there are quite a few funny DB moments, but I'd have to say the one moment that I'll probably find funny for the rest of my life is when Goku is telling SS2 Gohan to finish off Cell, and Gohan replies "*smirk* No, I think I'll wait I want to make him suffer a little more". I know it's weird, but seeing Gohan all psychotic like that seems to always get a rise out of me.
Signatures are stupid and I wish there was a way to turn them off

A filler bit in the original Dragon Ball series, Goku takes a leak on one of Pilafs hidden cameras (Filler during the early part of the Red Ribbon storyline) and Pilaf freaks out...... really though almost anything involving Pilaf is insanely funny.

I think that anything involving Master Roshi's pervertedness or a nosebleed is pretty funny. I would have to say either when during the Perfect Cell saga when Chi-Chi was stuck at Roshi's had some funny moments, I liked the charecter interaction there. Or in movie nine when Roshi is on that pole checkin' out the ladies.

YES! I was just gonna say that, but you beat me to it! Anyways, I think that is the most classic. If you know about this and then watch how they edited for American TV, you'd also laugh your ass off! ha ha "Master Roshi, did you bring your Tomato Soup?"

Then in the dub, I always found King Cold's voice extremely hilarious, especially when he's talking about Trunks' sword, hmmm... and the little moan he lets out when Freeza wakes up after his operation! XD XD XD

Pretty much everything in volume 18 is hilarious... except Yamcha's death... *tear*

- Kaio saying how he likes to see how far he can pee
- Kami's disobedience to Enma
- Roshi running out of bathroom telling everyone to bring Goku back

The funniest non-dub anime moment was towards the end of the Buu saga, when they just defeated Buu and are on Kami's Lookout and everyone's so happy that Goku's alive and then BAM!! It hits you with this horrendous image of Gohan with the stupidest smile I have ever seen in my entire life.

My favorite dub moment was and forever shall be:
Krillin (to Tien and/or Yamcha): Don't pull a Piccolo on me!

Oh, how about when King Kai yelled at one of the other Kai's in the Other World Tournament, where it sounded like he said "You fat fucking half-pint"

Non-Dub Moment - In Movie 8 when Master Roshi and Oolong are sleeping in the same bed and Roshi starts having nasty dreams and begins licking Oolong's foot

Dub Moment - In the episode "Captain Ginyu the Frog" when Goku spots the needles on the floor and gets scared and Vegeta calls him a "Big Suck" although it sounded a lot like Big F***

oh, the difficulty of this task...

But if I had to pick just one moment, I think I'd say the entire Krillin/Bacterian fight in Dragonball.
I'd been snickering all throughout the match, but when I saw the part where Krillin fell onto the ring floor and and it showed him foaming at the mouth, I just burst into tears of laughter and couldn't stop for like 10 minutes.

King Kold sounds and reminds me of Niles Standish from Crank Yankers

I thought that King Kold sounded more like Tim Curry. And in one case, I heard a guy say his dub voice reminded him of "Him" from the Powerpuff Girls. And a friend of mine agreed with me that he should have voiced Frieza.

My favorite moment is when Trunks goes super saiyan, and Vegeta makes the whole 'super saiyan bargain sale' comment that made it into the dub!

Yes, at the end of dbz, SSJ is definitely cheapened.... -_-

Hm, that's a hard one.. But I think I'll go with the Pilaf and Shuu-scene from the first episode Silver is in (you know, the one where Pilaf smacks Shuu with a slipper).

As for dub-only.. eh, I dunno. The baseball match in dub episode 6, perhaps? One of the few dub moments that was funny in a "ha-ha"-way, not in a "oh god, this is so stupid"-way.

One thing I thought was funny was when in the anime, Krillin's giving Master Roshi a lot of dirty magazines and one has a guy in a speedo that says HOMO on the cover and Roshi goes, "Blehh!" I guess Krillin was prepared, just in case he went that way.

-Vegeta saying "What is he on?" when Goku told him that Piccolo, Gohan, Trunks, and Goten popping out of Buu were "people popcorn".

-King Cold asking Freeza "What's a Goku?"

-Yajirobe & Korin's whole "Bean Daddy" thing from Movie 5.

-Dende actually using the words "piss off" on the CN dub.

-Buu taking a shit (both Fat Buu and Super Buu)

-Goten mispronouncing the Kamehameha (although those assholes cut it out of the dub)

-Vegeta, on the uncut dub video, proclaiming himself as a "frickin' genius"
Battle High 2, starring Kyle Hebert as well as myself, has been released on Xbox 360, OUYA, PC, Linux, Mac, and Xbox One!

That is a classic!

Two of my favorites as well, it just shows how clueless and stupid Cold and Yajirobe are! XD Another one that I, for some damn reason, think is funny, is at the end of Movie 7's dub. Piccolo and Vegeta are sitting out on that glacier and one of them asks (forget which) "Is it over yet?" And the other replies. "Not until the fish jumps." and then a fish jumps and he says "It's over." I don't know why, but that cracked me up the first time I saw it.

<Kaboom> Neither does Rita
<Xyex> Good point.
