FUNi is really saving money with these sets.

Joe: "Hey Bill, just copy the old cover. Okay, now drop it on the brick. Excellent! Yeah... no one will notice."

Bill: "Aren't you going to look at the e-mails to see what kind of response we're getting from Dragonball fans."

Joe: "Nah, lets just keep making them so we can go home and collect our pensions"

Why bother complaining about something so petty? Season Eight has it's cover art and it is relevant to the series at that time. Move along with your lives and await Season Nine's art.

Not a bad idea if you ask me. I'd do the same thing if I were in their position.

You all are going to buy it anyway, especially if you already bought the other seven seasons already. Why care what you guys think?

Besides, it's not like they have the animators or Toriyama there to draw up new stock art. They'll use what they have.

I've already bought that last 7 sets, with the last two having head-explodingly odd cover choices, so this won't affect my purchase at all.

Yep, it's not like Toei and Toriyama have been doing new art recently.

What do you guys expect though? These are cheap, cheap sets. They get cheap, cheap art. I didn't even keep the boxes for the couple I bought.

We're not complaining. We'd just like to know what FUNi's staff does in their free time.

We're not complaining. We'd just like to know what FUNi's staff does in their free time.

They work on shows that require actual effort to sell. The cover art for a Dragonball Z release means nothing to the casual DeeBeeZee viewer. All they want is there favorite childhood show on DVD at a cheap price. This ain't a Lupin the 3rd movie or Spiral or Fruits Basket cause those shows require actually effort in order for a profit to be made. The treatment of Dragonball by Funi is the result of the franchise being cursed with big popularity.

Seriously though, your right with that analysis. If enough people buy them to make a profit, why put in any more effort that will cost you money? It's not greedy, it's just common economic sense. Besides, I worry more about the content and quality of the DVD's then anything else (which are not saying much for these sets).

And to be on topic, what's wrong with this one DB fandom? Majin Vegeta is arguably the best thing about the two sagas in the set, he's on the cover, no extra people that have nothing to do with it, widescreen has been argued to death, so what is it? Vegeta not look angry enough? Did you want the guy who shot Buu's dog on the cover instead?

Once again, no one is complaining about the box. And who cares if someone says that they don't like something. Truth is that not many of us like what FUNi has done with these sets, and we have the right to express our opinions. Period.

As long as it's almost a decent image, and the character is actually significant and relevant to the content of the footage then, "hurrah!".
