Hunting for some dub music

Post by NeptuneKai » Tue Jan 20, 2009 5:59 pm

Was the music from the Saiyan and Namek saga redub ever released on C.D? Is it uploaded on Youtube in any fashion? There are a few select tracks I like and want to listen to. Any help is appreciated.

Do you mean Original Japanese music?

Well, yeah..... the Daizenshuu set, and probably more.

No the ultimate uncut redub ordeal that now serves as Funimation's Saiyan and Namek saga. I was talking about the newly composed dub music from there.

I can't help, I'll let that out right off the bat. But I'm curious as to why (assuming you mean Funi dub) you want to listen to dub music? You hate Funimation and their dub with a firey passion.

Maybe I can help, actually, as far as I know the redubbed music was just the faulkner scores. So that's what you want to look for.

Nah as I mentioned in my last post ( I know we posted at the same time and you probably didn't get a chance to see it) I'm looking for the newest set of dub music. For example the track in this scene http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8FN-NUkb ... re=related

To answer part two of your statement I actually find this music fairly well composed, not pseudo "X-TREME" and overall enjoyable to listen to. It doesn't hold a candle to the Japanese tracks for sure though.

For the record I don't hate ALL of Bruce's music just most of it.

The re-dub music was composed by Nathen Johnson, and has not seen a CD release. :)

Thanks a bunch, I wonder if it's possible to rip those tracks off of the DVD.

The music sounds horribly incoherent to me, but to each his own I guess.

Really? As in it doesn't stand out past the voices? I'm not saying it's high quality I just find a lot of his scores catchy. Unlike Bruce's score it isn't trying to be "ALL UP IN YOUR GRILL WITH X-TREME ACTION!!!!" which I appreciate greatly.

Meh, I have to admit I can't actually stomache Nathan's stuff. To me its really bland and lacking in emotion, personality, and quality. Gimme the other 3 DBZ scores anyday over that (though they all have their problems of course).

Hey I get to have my opinions. How does the score you wrote hold up?

Plus no-one really knows what an 100% Scott Morgan score sounds like in DBZ (hell or even 40%). CLosest thing would be if you watched the Plan to Eradicate the Saiyans fandub...but even then I was mimicking the Faulconer Productions style

If you have issues with the quality or emotion in that then we can talk.

So to have actually composed a musical score is now a pre-requisite for having an opinion?

THAT was supposed to make me praise your music? It sounds exactly like the redundant synthesized score plaguing the Dragonball dub.
At least this wasn't trying to be pseudo "HARDCORE". To be fair it does sound better then the Garlic Jr. Gameboy music though.

Precisely, thank you how jejune can you get?

This one's too easy.

Of course not, I was pointing out how unfair the pre-requisite of having to have *not* worked on a score is. I'm the only one in this conversation who has anything that big at stake. I can't exactly throw rocks back at NeptuneKai for his score cause he hasn't written one... That was my point.

Back? You were the one who insulted a composer that worked on the same show as you. I'm not personally offended but that seems a little unprofessional. I'm just some piss ant kid who sits here spouting opinions but aren't you supposed to be a little more professional? You can share your opinion on his score but you don't have to openly flame someone with the same job as you.

Awsome man, well if that doesn't connect with you it just goes to show how subjective all this stuff is. To me that string sound is incredibly realistic and is one of the best synth strings out there that money can buy right now. I won't comment on my own playing of it.
